Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Douala Arrival
Arrive at Douala International Airport. Transfer to K Hotel near the city center. Evening seafood dinner at a Wouri River restaurant.
Day 2: Douala Discovery
Full day exploring Cameroon’s economic capital: the Akwa Palace, the German-built Pagoda, the bustling Marche Central, and Bonanjo’s administrative quarter with its colonial-era buildings. Evening at the riverside promenade.
Day 3: Douala to Kribi — The Atlantic Paradise
Drive south along the Atlantic coast to Kribi, Cameroon’s premier beach destination. The route passes through fishing villages and coastal rainforest. Check into Les Gites de Kribi, oceanfront bungalows with direct beach access. Afternoon relaxation on Kribi’s golden sand beaches.
Day 4: Lobe Waterfalls — Where the River Meets the Ocean
Take a traditional pirogue up the Lobe River through dense coastal rainforest. Arrive at the spectacular Lobe Waterfalls — one of the few places in the world where a river cascades directly into the ocean. Swim in natural pools and explore the surrounding forest. Lunch at Au Plaisir du Gout with Atlantic Ocean views. Afternoon beach time.
Day 5: Campo Ma’an National Park
Day trip to Campo Ma’an National Park, a biodiversity hotspot where coastal rainforest meets the ocean. The park is home to forest elephants, chimpanzees, mandrills, and the rare Picathartes (rockfowl). Guided nature walk with local eco-guards.
Day 6: Kribi — Fishing Villages & Pygmy Communities
Visit traditional Bagyeli (Pygmy) communities near Kribi to learn about forest life and traditional medicine. Afternoon at a local fishing village watching the daily catch arrive — some of the freshest seafood in Africa.
Day 7: Kribi Beach Day
Free day to enjoy Kribi’s beaches, swim in the warm Atlantic waters, and sample fresh grilled shrimp (Cameroon’s famous “gambas”) at beachside cabanas.
Day 8: Return to Douala
Scenic drive back to Douala through the coastal forest. Afternoon shopping at the Marche des Fleurs.
Day 9: Departure
