Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Livingstone — Victoria Falls Zambia Side
Welcome to Livingstone, Zambia! Transfer to your lodge. Afternoon visit to Victoria Falls on the Zambia side — Mosi-oa-Tunya, “The Smoke That Thunders.” Walk the Knife-Edge Bridge for spectacular views of the Eastern Cataract, where the spray creates permanent rainbows. In the rainy season (Feb-May), the spray rises 400 meters into the air. Overnight in Livingstone.
Day 2: Victoria Falls Activities
Full day at the Falls. Morning guided tour of the Zambia side viewpoints, including the Boiling Pot at the base. Optional activities: microlight flight over the Falls ($185), Devil’s Pool swim (seasonal, $110), or bungee jumping from the Victoria Falls Bridge. Afternoon visit to the Livingstone Museum to learn about David Livingstone’s 1855 discovery. Sunset cruise on the Zambezi River above the Falls. Overnight in Livingstone.
Day 3: Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park & Rhino Walk
Morning game drive in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park — Zambia’s smallest but most accessible park, home to the country’s only white rhinos. Guided walking safari to approach the rhinos on foot with armed rangers — the ultimate close encounter. Afternoon at leisure: visit the local craft market, relax at your lodge with Falls views. Overnight in Livingstone.
Day 4: Chobe National Park — Botswana Day Safari
Cross the Kazungula border into Botswana for a full day in Chobe National Park. This is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations — home to an estimated 120,000 elephants, the largest concentration on the continent. Morning game drive along the Chobe riverfront: elephants, buffalo, lions, and giraffes at every turn. Lunch at a riverside lodge. Afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River — the best way to see elephants swimming, hippos, crocodiles, and massive buffalo herds coming to drink. Return to Livingstone. Overnight in Livingstone.
Day 5: Depart Livingstone
Morning visit to the local market for Zambian crafts — copper jewelry, wooden masks, and chitenge fabrics. Transfer to Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport. Safe travels!
