Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Edinburgh
Transfer to central Edinburgh. Afternoon: explore the Royal Mile and Victoria Street — said to be J.K. Rowling’s inspiration for Diagon Alley. Evening: welcome dinner and briefing. Overnight in Edinburgh.
Day 2: Stirling, Trossachs & Oban
Morning: Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. Drive through the Trossachs National Park — Rob Roy country — where lochs reflect forested hills. Afternoon: arrive at Oban, the “Seafood Capital of Scotland” and gateway to the Hebrides. Visit the McCaig’s Tower, a granite Colosseum-like folly overlooking the bay, and Oban Distillery (1794), one of Scotland’s smallest and oldest. Dinner: Oban Bay fish and chips at the harbor. Overnight in Oban.
Day 3: Glen Coe & Fort William
Morning: drive into Glen Coe, Scotland’s most dramatic glen. Walk the Lost Valley trail (Coire Gabhail, hidden between the Three Sisters) where the MacDonalds hid stolen cattle — a dramatic 2.5km hike into a hanging valley used for centuries. Afternoon: Fort William, shadowed by Ben Nevis. Take the Nevis Range gondola to 650m for panoramic views. Optional: visit the Ben Nevis Distillery. Overnight in Fort William.
Day 4: Great Glen & Loch Ness
Drive along the Great Glen, the geological fault line bisecting Scotland. Stop at the Commando Memorial near Spean Bridge with views of the Nevis range. Continue to Fort Augustus at the southern tip of Loch Ness — watch boats navigate the Caledonian Canal’s flight of locks. Afternoon: 1-hour Loch Ness boat cruise with sonar — scan the deep while hearing the history and legends. Visit Urquhart Castle then continue to Inverness. Overnight in Inverness.
Day 5: Speyside Whisky & Cairngorms

Day 6: Depart Edinburgh
