Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Nice, Transfer to Monaco
Arrive at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport. Your private driver whisks you along the Moyenne Corniche — one of three cliff-hugging roads connecting Nice to Monaco, with heart-stopping views of the Mediterranean plunging below. Monaco is the world’s second-smallest country (2.02 km², smaller than Central Park) but packs more wealth per square meter than anywhere on Earth. Check into your hotel in Monte Carlo. Evening: walk to the Casino de Monte-Carlo, the Belle Époque masterpiece that has defined Monaco’s glamour since 1863. Even if you don’t gamble, the marble atrium, gold-leaf ceilings, and parade of supercars outside (Bugattis, Paganis, LaFerraris) are a show in themselves. Day 2: Monte Carlo & Monaco-Ville — The Rock
Morning at Le Rocher (The Rock), Monaco’s historic Old Town perched on a 60m limestone promontory. Visit the Prince’s Palace — the Grimaldi family has ruled Monaco for over 700 years, making them Europe’s longest-ruling dynasty. At 11:55 AM, watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Walk through the Saint Martin Gardens, spectacularly suspended above the Mediterranean, to the Oceanographic Museum — founded in 1910 by Prince Albert I, a pioneering oceanographer. The museum’s aquarium in the basement, carved into the cliff, holds 6,000 specimens in 90 tanks including a shark lagoon. Jacques Cousteau served as director here for 31 years. Afternoon: walk the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit route — the same streets you walk become a 200mph racetrack each May, the most glamorous and dangerous circuit in motorsport. Day 3: Saint-Tropez — The Legend
Drive 2 hours to Saint-Tropez, the fishing village transformed into an icon of French glamour by Brigitte Bardot in the 1950s. Morning at the Place des Lices market — Provençal fabrics, lavender, olive oils, and pétanque players under plane trees. Walk the old port where fishing boats share dock space with the world’s most extravagant yachts. Lunch: bouillabaisse at a beachfront restaurant on Pampelonne Beach, the 5km stretch of sand where Club 55 defined barefoot luxury. Afternoon at leisure — swim in the Mediterranean, browse the designer boutiques, or visit the Annonciade Museum in a converted 16th-century chapel housing post-Impressionist works by Signac, Matisse, and Bonnard who painted the Riviera’s light. Day 4: Èze & Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild
Drive the coastal road back east, stopping at Èze — a medieval village clinging impossibly to a rocky pinnacle 427m above the sea. Climb the cobblestone lanes to the Jardin Exotique at the summit: cacti, succulents, and 360° views from Saint-Tropez to Italy on clear days. Continue to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, the pink mansion built by Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild in 1912. Nine themed gardens surround the villa — Spanish, Florentine, Japanese, Stone, Rose, and Provençal — with musical fountains performing every 20 minutes. The interior is furnished exactly as the Baroness left it: Sèvres porcelain, Gobelins tapestries, and a private collection that rivals many museums. Overnight in Monte Carlo.
Day 5: Monaco Morning & Depart
Visit the Monte-Carlo Market in La Condamine for last souvenirs — local olive oil, socca (chickpea crepes), and Provençal rosé. Optional: helicopter transfer to Nice Airport (7 minutes, the ultimate Monaco experience). Transfer to Nice airport.
