Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Jersey — Welcome to the Largest Channel Island
Fly into Jersey Airport or arrive by ferry. Transfer to your hotel in St Helier. Afternoon orientation: walk the St Helier waterfront promenade from Elizabeth Castle (accessible by amphibious vehicle at high tide or walk the causeway at low tide) to the modern marina. Welcome dinner featuring Jersey’s famous seafood — oysters from the Royal Bay of Grouville, spider crab, and Jersey lobster in season. Overnight in St Helier.
Day 2: Durrell & the North Coast — Wildlife & Cliffs
Morning at Durrell Wildlife Park, Jersey’s world-famous conservation zoo. Walk through the Valley of the Lemurs, the bat forest, and the gorilla enclosure. Afternoon: drive the north coast, stopping at the Devil’s Hole — a 100-foot-deep collapsed crater where the sea thunders in below — and Grève de Lecq beach. Visit Plemont Bay with its sea caves accessible at low tide. End the day at Grosnez Castle ruins for spectacular sunset views. Overnight in St Helier.
Day 3: Jersey War Tunnels & West Coast Beaches
Morning visit to the Jersey War Tunnels — “Höhlgangsanlage 8,” a 1km-long underground hospital complex built by forced laborers during the Nazi occupation, now a powerful museum. Afternoon: explore the west coast. Visit Corbière Lighthouse at low tide for the walk across the causeway. Relax at St Ouen’s Bay, Jersey’s surfer beach with miles of golden sand stretching to La Rocco Tower. Visit the Channel Islands Military Museum, housed in a restored German bunker. Overnight in St Helier.
Day 4: Mont Orgueil & the East Coast — Medieval Jersey
Full-day exploration: Mont Orgueil Castle in the morning — one of the world’s finest surviving medieval castles, dominating the eastern coastline. Then visit the medieval fishing village of Gorey beneath the castle, with its waterfront restaurants. Afternoon: La Hougue Bie, the Neolithic passage grave aligned to the equinox — light penetrates the chamber only twice a year. The site also features a German command bunker and a memorial to forced laborers. Continue to the Jersey Lavender Farm (summer) or the Botanic Gardens at Samarès Manor. Farewell dinner at a gastropub in the countryside. Overnight in St Helier.
Day 5: Departure
Free morning: last chance for tax-free shopping in St Helier. Transfer to airport or ferry.
