With a mix of public buses, shared transfers, and local experiences, this tour delivers authentic Colombia at just $200/day — including domestic flights. Perfect for solo travelers and groups wanting to maximize their Colombian journey.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Bogotá
Arrive at Bogotá’s El Dorado Airport (2,640m — the third-highest major city in South America). Transfer to hostel or budget hotel in La Candelaria, Bogotá’s colonial heart. Afternoon walking tour: Plaza Bolívar, the Gold Museum (Museo del Oro — the world’s largest collection of pre-Columbian gold artifacts), and the Botero Museum. Evening: craft beer in the Chapinero district. Overnight Bogotá.

Day 2: Bogotá — Monserrate & Street Art
Morning: cable car or hike up Monserrate (3,152m) — a pilgrimage site with a 17th-century church and the best panoramic view of Bogotá’s 8 million-person sprawl. Afternoon: Bogotá’s world-class street art tour — massive murals covering the city’s history, politics, and culture. Optional visit to the Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral (1.5 hours north) — an underground Roman Catholic church built within a salt mine, 200 meters underground. Overnight Bogotá.

Day 3: Fly Bogotá to Armenia — Salento
Morning flight to Armenia (1 hour). Public bus to Salento (1 hour). Settle into the colorful town. Afternoon: walk up to the Mirador de Salento for sunset views over the Coffee Triangle. Early jeep (Willys) ride to Cocora Valley. Full-day hike through the wax palm forest — the world’s tallest palms rising dramatically from the mist. Complete the 12km loop trail through cloud forest and open valleys. Afternoon: coffee farm tour at a family-run finca — hands-on bean picking, processing, and the perfect cup. Overnight Salento.

Day 5: Filandia — Bus to Medellín
Morning visit to Filandia — quieter than Salento with equally beautiful streets and the Mirador Colina Iluminada viewpoint. Afternoon bus to Medellín (6 hours through stunning Andean scenery). Arrive Medellín in the evening. Check into hostel/hotel in El Poblado. Overnight Medellín.

Day 6: Medellín — Comuna 13 & City Highlights
