Arrive and explore. National Museum, Madina Market. Evening: Guinean music performance — Guinea is the birthplace of the kora (21-string harp-lute), djembe drum, and the legendary Ballets Africains. Overnight in Conakry.
Day 2: Conakry — Music & Dance Capital
Morning: djembe drumming workshop with a master drummer — learn basic rhythms on the instrument that defines West African music. Afternoon: visit the Palais du Peuple and the Conakry Grand Mosque, one of West Africa’s largest. Evening: live music show. Overnight in Conakry.
Day 3: Kindia — Bride’s Veil & Market
Drive to Kindia. Visit Voile de la Mariée waterfall. Afternoon: explore Kindia market and visit a coffee cooperative. Overnight in Kindia.
Day 4: Dalaba — Highland Retreat
Drive to Dalaba. Visit colonial-era buildings, the Case à Palabre, and hike to the cliff viewpoints. Cool mountain air — a welcome relief. Overnight in Dalaba.
Day 5: Labe — Fulani Culture
Drive to Labe. Visit the Grande Mosquée, the old town, and Fulani indigo weavers. Afternoon: Fulani village visit — learn about Pulaaku, the Fulani code of conduct. Overnight in Labe.
Day 6: Return to Conakry & Îles de Los
Drive back to Conakry. Afternoon: boat to Îles de Los for beach time. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Conakry.
Day 7: Depart Guinea
