Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Georgetown — Culinary Welcome
Private airport transfer to your Georgetown hotel. Afternoon private tour of Bourda Market with Chef Delven Adams — learn about Guyanese ingredients and cuisine. Cooking demonstration featuring pepperpot, the national dish. Overnight in Georgetown.
Day 2: Kaieteur Falls — The Crown Jewel
Private charter flight to Kaieteur National Park. This is the world’s highest single-drop waterfall — 741 feet of raw power in the heart of the Amazon. Spend 3-4 hours at the falls with a specialized guide. Multiple viewpoints, including the dramatic “edge” viewpoint. Picnic lunch with the falls as backdrop. The golden rocket frog and scarlet cock-of-the-rock bird are unique to this region. Flight back to Georgetown.
Day 3: Surama Village & Iwokrama
Drive and 4×4 into the interior to Surama Amerindian village. Traditional Macushi welcome. Nature walk through the savannah to spot giant anteaters, agoutis, and diverse birdlife. Overnight at Surama eco-lodge, a community-owned accommodation with spectacular views of the Pakaraima Mountains.
Day 4: Burro Burro River & Wildlife
Canoe trip on the Burro Burro River, paddling through gallery forest alive with howler monkeys, toucans, and macaws. Expert tracker guides search for giant river otters, tapir, and the elusive jaguar. Picnic lunch on a sandbank. Evening traditional dinner and storytelling with the community.
Day 5: Return & Depart
Dawn wildlife walk, then 4×4 back to Georgetown. Private transfer to airport.
