Day 2: Kaieteur Falls — World’s Tallest Single-Drop Waterfall

Charter flight over pristine rainforest to Kaieteur National Park. Kaieteur Falls plunges 741 feet (226 meters) in a single drop — five times the height of Niagara Falls. Walk to multiple viewpoints for breathtaking perspectives. Spot the golden rocket frog and the cock-of-the-rock bird, endemic to this region. Afternoon flight back to Georgetown. Overnight in Georgetown.

Day 3: Iwokrama Rainforest

Drive into the heart of Guyana’s interior. Arrive at Iwokrama Forest, one of the world’s four remaining pristine tropical rainforests. Visit the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway, suspended 30 meters above the forest floor, offering eye-level views of toucans, howler monkeys, and the stunning green canopy stretching to the horizon. Overnight at Iwokrama River Lodge.

Day 4: Iwokrama Wildlife

Dawn boat trip on the Essequibo River, Guyana’s longest. Search for giant river otters, black caiman, and the elusive jaguar that hunts along the riverbanks. Afternoon climb Turtle Mountain (290m) for a 360-degree panorama of unbroken rainforest canopy — one of South America’s most spectacular views. Overnight at Iwokrama River Lodge.

Day 5: Surama Village — Amerindian Culture

Continue south to Surama, a traditional Macushi Amerindian village. Meet the village leader and learn about Macushi culture, traditional medicine, and hunting techniques. Participate in cassava bread making. Evening walk to spot nocturnal wildlife. Overnight in Surama eco-lodge.

Day 6-7: Rupununi Savannah

Journey into the vast Rupununi Savannah, Guyana’s wild west. Two days tracking giant anteaters, giant armadillos, and the world’s largest rodent — the capybara. Visit Karanambu Lodge, former home of legendary conservationist Diane McTurk, famous for rehabilitating orphaned giant river otters. Boat trips on the Rupununi River at sunset. Overnight at Karanambu Lodge.

Morning wildlife walk, then fly back to Georgetown from Lethem. Afternoon free to explore Georgetown’s markets and historic Stabroek Market, the city’s iconic cast-iron clock tower landmark. Farewell dinner at a riverside restaurant.
