Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Ciudad del Este
Fly into Ciudad del Este (or cross from Foz do Iguacu, Brazil). Check into hotel. Evening at the Friendship Bridge with views of three countries at once — Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina. Overnight in Ciudad del Este.
Day 2: Iguazu Falls — Argentine Side
Full day at Iguazu National Park (Argentina). Ride the ecological train to Devil’s Throat station, then walk the catwalks suspended over the massive cascade. Explore the upper and lower circuits for intimate views of the 275 waterfalls. The roar and mist of these falls is a memory for a lifetime. Return to Ciudad del Este.
Day 3: Itaipu Dam & Monday Falls
Morning tour of Itaipu Dam, the world’s largest hydroelectric plant (shared with Brazil). Panoramic tour and the impressive spillway visit. Afternoon at Monday Falls (Saltos del Monday), Paraguay’s own dramatic waterfall system — three main falls plunging 40 meters. Evening bus or flight to Asuncion. Overnight in Asuncion.
Day 4: Asuncion Discovery
Full day exploring Paraguay’s capital. Visit the Government Palace, National Pantheon of Heroes, the Casa de la Independencia, and the vibrant Mercado 4. Afternoon in the historic Loma San Jeronimo neighborhood. Artisan market for nanduti lace, the intricate Paraguayan textile art. Farewell dinner with live harp music.
Day 5: Depart Asuncion
Morning at leisure. Transfer to Silvio Pettirossi Airport.
