Day 1: Arrive Livingstone
Welcome to Zambia! Check into your backpacker lodge. Afternoon free to explore Livingstone town. Meet your safari crew over dinner. Overnight in Livingstone.
Day 2: Victoria Falls & Rhino Walk
Morning guided tour of Victoria Falls. Afternoon rhino walking safari in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park — track white rhinos on foot with armed rangers. Sunset cruise on the Zambezi (own expense or included in optional activity package). Overnight in Livingstone.
Day 3: Livingstone to South Luangwa
Overland journey through the Zambian countryside to South Luangwa National Park. Arrive at camp near the park entrance. Evening around the campfire with stories and stargazing. Overnight at camp.
Day 4-5: South Luangwa Walking Safari
Two full days of walking safaris — the real, raw Zambian experience. Dawn departure with armed scout and expert guide. Learn to read the bush: identify tracks, understand animal behavior, and approach wildlife on foot. Afternoons at leisure in camp. Night drives for nocturnal wildlife — leopards, hyenas, genets, and bush babies. Overnights at bush camp.
Day 6: Game Drive — Full Day
Full-day game drive with picnic lunch deep in the park. Explore the ebony groves and floodplains. South Luangwa’s famous lion prides and leopard sightings. Visit the hippo-filled lagoons. Overnight at bush camp.
Day 7: Transfer to Petauke — Community Visit
Drive through rural Zambia. Visit a local village for a cultural experience: learn about daily life, traditional crafts, and community conservation efforts. Overnight at community guesthouse.
Day 8: Lower Zambezi Canoe Safari
Arrive at the Lower Zambezi. Full day canoe safari on the Zambezi River — a completely different perspective on African wildlife. Paddle past elephants, hippos, and crocodiles. Camp on a remote Zambezi sandbank (seasonal). Overnight at riverside camp.
Day 9: Return to Lusaka — Depart
Drive to Lusaka for your international flight. Twalumba!
