Day 3: Mtskheta & Uplistsikhe Cave City

Visit Mtskheta’s UNESCO monuments — Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Jvari Monastery. Continue to Uplistsikhe, a 3,000-year-old rock-hewn city carved into volcanic cliffs. Walk through ancient streets, temples, wine presses, and a Hellenistic theater carved from stone. Overnight near Gori.

Day 4: Gori & Borjomi

Visit the Stalin Museum in Gori (controversial but historically significant). Continue to Borjomi, famous for its mineral water springs and the vast Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. Stroll the Central Park and taste the naturally carbonated water. Overnight in Borjomi.

Day 5: Akhaltsikhe & Vardzia Cave Monastery

Explore the Rabati Castle complex in Akhaltsikhe — a restored fortress with a church, mosque, synagogue, and museum. Continue to Vardzia, a spectacular 12th-century cave monastery complex carved into the Erusheti Mountain. 13 tiers with over 400 rooms, churches, and wine cellars. Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.

Day 6: Kakheti Wine Country

Travel to Kakheti, Georgia’s premier wine region. Visit a qvevri winery to learn the 8,000-year-old clay vessel method. Lunch in Sighnaghi with Alazani Valley views. Visit Bodbe Monastery. Day 7: David Gareja & Return

Visit David Gareja Lavra, a 6th-century cave monastery complex in the semi-desert on the Azerbaijan border. See remarkable frescoes in remote chapels. Return to Tbilisi. Farewell dinner with Georgian folk dance performance. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 8: Depart Tbilisi
