Day 1: Arrive Munich
Welcome to Munich! Transfer to The Westin Grand Munich. Evening walk through the illuminated Christmas markets (seasonal) with mulled wine. Overnight in Munich.
Day 2: Munich — Bavarian Capital
Visit Marienplatz, the Frauenkirche, and the Residenz. Lunch at the Hofbräuhaus. Afternoon free to explore the English Garden or art museums. Overnight in Munich.
Day 3: Salzburg — Mozart & Sound of Music
Travel to Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace. Walking tour of the baroque Old Town: Mozart’s Birthplace, Getreidegasse, Mirabell Gardens. Visit the Hohensalzburg Fortress towering above. Taste traditional Salzburger Nockerl dessert. Overnight in Salzburg.
Day 4: Salzburg — Christmas Markets & Culinary
Morning visit to the Salzburg Christmas Market (seasonal) — one of Europe’s oldest. Sample Lebkuchen (gingerbread) and Glühwein. Afternoon cooking class: make authentic Austrian strudel. Overnight in Salzburg.
Day 5: Innsbruck — Alpine Capital
Drive to Innsbruck through the Tyrolean Alps. Horse-drawn carriage ride through the old town. Visit the Golden Roof and the Imperial Palace. See the Bergisel Ski Jump designed by Zaha Hadid. Overnight in Innsbruck.
Day 6: Swarovski Crystal Worlds & Liechtenstein
Visit Swarovski Crystal Worlds — an underground wonderland of art installations. Special dinner at the Crystal Worlds restaurant. Afternoon drive to Vaduz, capital of the tiny principality of Liechtenstein. Overnight in the Swiss border region.
Day 7: Swiss Alps — Lucerne
Travel to Lucerne, Switzerland’s most beautiful city. Walk the Chapel Bridge, see the Lion Monument, and cruise Lake Lucerne surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Overnight in Lucerne.
Day 8: Mount Pilatus or Titlis
Excursion to Mount Pilatus (or Titlis): cable car ride to over 3,000m for breathtaking Alpine panoramas. Farewell dinner with Swiss fondue and raclette. Overnight in Lucerne.
Day 9: Depart Zurich
Transfer to Zurich Airport. Auf Wiedersehen!
