Day 1: Arrive Vilnius, Lithuania
Welcome to the Baltics! Airport transfer to your hotel in Vilnius, Lithuania’s baroque capital. Evening welcome meeting with your tour director. Overnight in Vilnius.
Day 2: Vilnius — Baroque Beauty
Morning guided tour of Vilnius Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage): Cathedral Square, Gediminas Tower, St. Anne’s Church (Napoleon’s favorite), the Gates of Dawn, and Vilnius University. Afternoon free to explore the bohemian Uzupis district — the “Republic of Uzupis” with its own constitution. Overnight in Vilnius.
Day 3: Trakai Castle & Hill of Crosses
Morning excursion to Trakai — the fairy-tale island castle on Lake Galve, former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Afternoon drive north to Siauliai to visit the Hill of Crosses, one of Europe’s most unique pilgrimage sites with over 100,000 crosses. Continue to Riga, Latvia. Overnight in Riga.
Day 4: Riga — Art Nouveau Capital
Full-day guided tour of Riga (UNESCO World Heritage): Riga Castle, Dome Cathedral (largest medieval church in the Baltics), the Three Brothers, St. Peter’s Church tower for panoramic views. Afternoon explore the Art Nouveau district — Riga has the world’s highest concentration of Art Nouveau architecture. Overnight in Riga.
Day 5: Gauja National Park
Day trip to Gauja National Park — Latvia’s oldest and largest national park. Visit Sigulda with its three medieval castles: Turaida Castle (the “Castle of the Gods”), Krimulda Castle ruins, and Sigulda New Castle. Explore the Gutman’s Cave with ancient inscriptions. Funicular ride over the Gauja River valley. Overnight in Riga.
Day 6: Riga to Tallinn via Parnu
Drive along the Baltic coast to Estonia. Stop at Parnu, Estonia’s premier summer resort town with its white-sand beach and historic spa architecture. Arrive in Tallinn by late afternoon. Evening walk through the cobblestone streets of the medieval Old Town. Overnight in Tallinn.
Day 7: Tallinn — Medieval Marvel
Morning guided tour of Tallinn Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage): Toompea Castle, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Town Hall Square (one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval squares), St. Olaf’s Church, and the medieval city walls with 26 preserved watchtowers. Afternoon free — optional Kadriorg Palace and Kumu Art Museum. Farewell dinner in a medieval tavern. Overnight in Tallinn.
Day 8: Depart Tallinn
Breakfast and transfer to Tallinn Airport (TLL). Safe travels!
