Meet your group in Barcelona and transfer through dramatic Pyrenean scenery to Soldeu, Andorra, perched at 1,710m in the heart of the Grandvalira ski domain. Check into the charming Hotel Roc de St Miquel, your base for the week. Afternoon orientation walk through this traditional mountain village—stone houses, a Romanesque church, and views that stretch across the Pyrenees into France. Welcome dinner featuring Andorran mountain cuisine: trinxat (cabbage and potato hash with bacon), escudella stew, and local wines. Overnight Soldeu.
Day 2: Port d’Envalira — Cycling at 2,408 Meters
After breakfast, pick up your mountain bikes for the day’s adventure. Cycle along the legendary Port d’Envalira, the highest paved road in the Pyrenees at 2,408 meters. The climb is challenging but the reward is extraordinary: 360-degree views across Andorra, France, and Spain from the summit. Continue to Abelletes Lake on the French border, a pristine alpine lake reflecting the surrounding peaks. Descend through the dramatic Incles Valley, one of Andorra’s most beautiful glacial valleys. Afternoon return to Soldeu for a well-deserved rest. Overnight Soldeu.
Day 3: Incles Valley Hike to Cabana Sorda Lake
Full-day hiking through the spectacular Incles Valley. This U-shaped glacial valley is a hiker’s paradise: emerald meadows, rushing streams, and towering granite peaks. The trail climbs gradually to Cabana Sorda Lake (2,290m), a jewel of sapphire water cupped in a glacial cirque beneath rocky summits. Your guide will point out Pyrenean chamois, marmots, and golden eagles that inhabit these high mountains. Picnic lunch with the lake as your backdrop. Afternoon descent through alpine meadows bursting with wildflowers (June-September). Evening at leisure in Soldeu. Overnight Soldeu.
Day 4: Zip-Line at Engolasters & Andorra la Vella
Morning transfer to Engolasters Lake for an adrenaline-filled zip-line session through the treetops. Soar above the pine forest with panoramic views of the valley below—multiple lines of increasing height and speed. After the adrenaline, visit Caldea Thermal Spa in Andorra la Vella, Europe’s largest mountain spa. Soak in indoor and outdoor thermal pools fed by natural hot springs, surrounded by Pyrenean peaks. Afternoon exploration of Andorra la Vella, Europe’s highest capital city: the Casa de la Vall (historic parliament building from 1580), the 12th-century Santa Coloma Church with its round bell tower, and duty-free shopping along Meritxell Avenue. Overnight Soldeu.
Day 5: Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley — UNESCO World Heritage
Full-day hike into the UNESCO-listed Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, a cultural landscape of extraordinary beauty and significance. This glacial valley covers 10% of Andorra’s territory and has been shaped by centuries of pastoral activity—you’ll see old shepherds’ huts, terraced fields, and iron-forge ruins that tell the story of traditional Pyrenean life. The trail follows the Madriu River through pine forests, alpine meadows, and past mountain lakes. This is Andorra at its most pristine and untouched. Packed lunch in the valley. Return to Soldeu for dinner. Overnight Soldeu.
Day 6: Sort White-Water Rafting — Spanish Pyrenees
Cross into Spain for the day’s main event: white-water rafting on the Noguera Pallaresa River near Sort, Catalonia’s premier rafting destination. This river offers Class III-IV rapids through a spectacular gorge—thrilling but safe for first-timers under professional guidance. The 14km descent takes 2-3 hours through crystal-clear water with mountain scenery all around. After the rapids, visit the medieval town of Sort with its Romanesque bridge and castle ruins. Lunch at a local restaurant featuring Catalan mountain specialties. Return to Soldeu. Overnight Soldeu.
Day 7: Sorteny Nature Reserve & Ransol Ridge
Morning hike in Sorteny Nature Reserve, Andorra’s botanical paradise—over 700 plant species in a compact alpine valley, including several endemics found nowhere else. The trail climbs to Estanyó Lake (2,350m), reflecting the surrounding granite peaks. Afternoon hike along the Ransol Ridge for a final panorama: the entire Grandvalira domain spread below, from Soldeu to El Tarter. Farewell dinner at a traditional borda (stone farmhouse-turned-restaurant) featuring the full Andorran mountain feast. Overnight Soldeu.
Day 8: Return to Barcelona
Morning transfer back to Barcelona. If time allows, stop at the Romanesque churches of the Valira Valley on the way—small stone masterpieces with Lombard bell towers and medieval frescoes. Arrive Barcelona for your onward journey, carrying memories of Pyrenean peaks, alpine lakes, white-water rapids, and Europe’s most underrated mountain paradise.
