Day 1: Arrive St. Kitts — Welcome to the Federation

Arrive at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport. Transfer to your hotel near Basseterre. Welcome Carib beer and sunset views over the Caribbean Sea. Evening stroll along Port Zante, the cruise ship pier, with duty-free shopping. Overnight in Frigate Bay.

Day 2: Basseterre & Brimstone Hill Fortress — UNESCO Heritage

Full day exploring St. Kitts’ history. Morning: walking tour of Basseterre — Independence Square (once a slave market, now a beautiful park with an 18th-century fountain), the Circus (modeled after Piccadilly Circus with its Berkeley Memorial Clock), and St. George’s Anglican Church. Afternoon: Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park — the “Gibraltar of the West Indies.” This UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the best-preserved historical fortifications in the Americas, built by enslaved Africans and British engineers over 100+ years. Panoramic views of 5 neighboring islands from the citadel. Overnight in Frigate Bay.

Day 3: Nevis Island Day Trip

Morning ferry to Nevis, the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton. Visit the Hamilton Museum at his childhood home in Charlestown. Walking tour of Charlestown — a perfectly preserved 18th-century Caribbean town with Georgian buildings. Visit the Nevis Botanical Gardens, a lush 7-acre oasis with tropical plants from around the world. Lunch at the legendary Golden Rock Inn. Afternoon at Pinney’s Beach for swimming and views of St. Kitts across the Narrows. Return ferry in the evening. Overnight in Frigate Bay.

Day 4: Mount Liamuiga Volcano Hike

Full-day guided hike to the summit of Mount Liamuiga (3,792 ft / 1,156m), a dormant volcano that last erupted 1,800 years ago. The trail climbs through tropical rainforest, cloud forest, and finally elfin woodland. At the summit: peer into the mile-wide crater and enjoy panoramic views of Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barths, and St. Martin. The 6-7 hour round trip is challenging but the reward is extraordinary. Evening: well-deserved Caribbean lobster dinner. Overnight in Frigate Bay.

Day 5: St. Kitts Scenic Railway & Plantation Tour

Morning aboard the St. Kitts Scenic Railway — the “Last Railway in the West Indies.” Originally built to transport sugar cane, this narrow-gauge train now circles 18 miles of coastline with spectacular views. Singing a cappella choirs provide entertainment. Afternoon: visit Romney Manor, a 17th-century plantation house now home to Caribelle Batik, where artisans create hand-dyed batik fabrics using ancient Indonesian techniques. Walk through the 400-year-old saman tree in the gardens. Visit Wingfield Estate, the oldest rum distillery ruins in the Caribbean. Overnight in Frigate Bay.

Day 6: Catamaran Sail to Shitten Bay

Full-day catamaran cruise along St. Kitts’ southeast peninsula. Snorkeling at Shitten Bay with its protected coral reefs. Stop at a secluded beach on the peninsula for a beach barbecue. Afternoon sail past the dramatic volcanic cliffs of the Southeast Peninsula to Cockleshell Bay. Views of Nevis across the channel. Overnight in Frigate Bay.

Day 7: Rainforest Adventure & Black Rocks

Morning zip-line through St. Kitts’ rainforest canopy with 5 exhilarating lines. Afternoon: visit Black Rocks, dramatic lava formations on the Atlantic coast created by Mount Liamuiga’s last eruption. Explore the Carib Petroglyphs, pre-Columbian rock carvings that are among the oldest in the Caribbean. Farewell dinner at Sprat Net, a beachfront seafood shack famous for fresh lobster and grilled fish. Overnight in Frigate Bay.

Day 8: Depart St. Kitts

Morning visit to Timothy Hill for the iconic photo of the Atlantic and Caribbean meeting at the narrowest point of the island. Transfer to airport.
