Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Socotra
Arrive and transfer to eco-camp. Afternoon orientation walk around Hadiboh. Overnight at camp.
Day 2: Hagghier Mountains Trek — Day 1
Begin 3-day trek through the Hagghier Mountains, Socotra’s granite spine rising to 1,500m. First day: trek through frankincense groves and Dragon’s Blood Tree forests to the Skand Peak base camp. Stargazing from the mountains — Socotra has zero light pollution. Overnight in mountain camp.
Day 3: Hagghier Mountains Trek — Day 2 (Summit Bid)
Summit attempt on Skand Peak (optional — challenging granite scrambling). Alternative: traverse the mountain plateau visiting remote Dragon’s Blood Tree groves seen by fewer than 100 visitors per year. Overnight in mountain camp.
Day 4: Hagghier Mountains Trek — Day 3
Descent through Wadi Kilisan, one of Socotra’s most beautiful canyons. Natural pools for swimming. Rejoin vehicle at the canyon exit. Transfer to eco-camp. Overnight at camp.
Day 5: Dixam Plateau & Dragon’s Blood Forest
Full day on the Dixam Plateau. Photography-focused visit to the Dragon’s Blood Tree forest for sunrise and sunset — the trees are most spectacular in golden light. Shebahon viewpoint. Overnight at eco-camp.
Day 6: Detwah Lagoon & Shuab Beach
Drive to western Socotra. Detwah Lagoon for morning photography. Afternoon: Shuab Beach, accessible only by boat or 4×4 — one of the most isolated and beautiful beaches in the world. Camp overnight on the beach.
Day 7: Bottle Tree Forest & Hoq Cave
Morning photography at the Bottle Tree forest. Afternoon: deep exploration of Hoq Cave beyond the usual tourist route — 2+ hours underground. Overnight at eco-camp.
Day 8: Southern Coast — Noged Plain & Indian Ocean
Drive the southern coast road along the Indian Ocean. Visit the Noged Plain with its massive sand dunes. Snorkeling at Aomak Beach — Socotra’s waters are pristine and barely explored. Overnight at beach camp.
Day 9: Arher Dunes & Farewell
Final day at Arher Beach — dunes, swimming, and relaxation. Frankincense harvesting visit. Farewell dinner. Overnight at camp.
Day 10: Depart Socotra
Morning at Delisha Beach. Transfer to airport.
