Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive São Tomé

Day 2: Ôbo National Park & Lagoa Amélia
Full day exploring Ôbo National Park. Hike through primary rainforest to Lagoa Amélia. Birdwatching for endemic species. Visit the Botanical Garden. Afternoon: view the iconic Pico Cão Grande. Overnight at Omali Lodge.
Day 3: Cocoa Trail & Northern Coast
Roça Monte Café coffee plantation. Cocoa plantation tour with chocolate-making workshop. Northern coast: Boca do Inferno blowhole, beach at Praia dos Tamarindos. Overnight at Mucumbli Lodge.
Day 4: Southern Coast & Ilhéu das Rolas
Drive to Porto Alegre. Boat to Ilhéu das Rolas — stand on the Equator! Snorkeling and beach time. Turtle conservation project visit (seasonal). Overnight in Porto Alegre beach bungalow.
Day 5: Fly to Príncipe Island
Morning flight to Príncipe Island (30 minutes). This UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is one of Africa’s last true paradises — pristine rainforest, empty beaches, and world-class eco-lodges. Transfer to Bom Bom Island Resort, set on its own private islet connected by a wooden walkway. Afternoon: explore the resort’s beaches and snorkel in the marine reserve. Overnight at Bom Bom Resort.
Day 6: Príncipe — Ôbo do Príncipe National Park
Full day in Príncipe’s Ôbo National Park. Hike to the Pico Papagaio viewpoint for panoramic views across the island. Search for the Príncipe kingfisher and the endemic grey parrot — Príncipe has not been connected to mainland Africa for over 31 million years, resulting in extraordinary endemism. Afternoon: visit Santo António, the world’s smallest capital city — a charming collection of pastel-colored colonial buildings around a sleepy bay. Overnight at Bom Bom Resort.
Day 7: Príncipe — Banana Beach & Praia Boi
Morning boat trip to Banana Beach, regularly voted one of the world’s most beautiful — a perfect crescent of golden sand backed by jungle, without a soul in sight. Swim in turquoise water that’s been described as “liquid sapphire.” Afternoon: visit Praia Boi, another postcard-perfect beach where sea turtles nest. Farewell dinner on Príncipe — fresh lobster, tropical fruits, and champagne on the beach. Overnight at Bom Bom Resort.
Day 8: Depart Príncipe
Morning at leisure. Fly back to São Tomé for international connection. Adeus, ilhas maravilhosas!
