Day 1: Arrive Marrakech

Day 2: Marrakech Discovery
Half-day guided tour: Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs (hidden for centuries, rediscovered 1917), and Bahia Palace with its zellij courtyards and painted cedar ceilings. Afternoon: souk immersion — dyers’, metalworkers’, spice markets, and the leather tanneries. Evening: rooftop dinner overlooking Jemaa el-Fna. Overnight Marrakech.
Day 3: Marrakech to Casablanca
Drive to Casablanca. Visit the Hassan II Mosque — Africa’s largest, built on the Atlantic’s edge with a 210m minaret (world’s tallest), retractable roof, and laser pointing to Mecca. Walk the Corniche. Afternoon: visit the Habous Quarter and Mohammed V Square. Overnight Casablanca.
Day 4: Rabat to Chefchaouen — The Blue City
Morning: Rabat — Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, Mohammed V Mausoleum. Drive north through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen — Morocco’s Instagram-famous Blue Pearl. The entire medina is painted in shades of sky blue, cobalt, and powder blue — originally by Jewish refugees who believed blue reminded them of God’s presence, now maintained by locals who find it keeps buildings cool and mosquitoes away. Wander the impossibly photogenic streets: blue walls, blue steps, blue doors, pots of geraniums and bougainvillea adding splashes of red against the blue. Climb to the Spanish Mosque for sunset — panoramic views of the blue city against the Rif Mountains as the call to prayer echoes across the valley. Overnight Chefchaouen.
Day 5: Chefchaouen to Fes via Volubilis
Morning: final blue streets at sunrise — the light is pure magic. Drive to Volubilis — the Roman ruins with extraordinary mosaics still in their original positions. Walk the Decumanus Maximus, Triumphal Arch, and the House of Orpheus. Continue to Fes. Check into your riad in the heart of the medina. Overnight Fes.
Day 6: Fes — Imperial Heart
Full-day guided exploration: Bou Inania Madrasa, Al Quaraouiyine University (world’s oldest, 859 AD), Chouara tanneries (unchanged for 1,000 years), the Nejjarine Museum, and the Mellah (Jewish Quarter). Lunch at a medina restaurant — pastilla (pigeon pie with cinnamon and powdered sugar). Afternoon: workshop visits — zellij tile making, carpet weaving, and brass etching. Overnight Fes.
Day 7: Fes to Merzouga — Sahara Sands
Drive through Ifrane (Morocco’s Switzerland) and Azrou cedar forests (feed Barbary macaques). Through the Ziz Valley’s palm groves to Merzouga. Camel trek into Erg Chebbi at sunset — 150m golden dunes. Desert camp: Berber dinner, drums, and a billion stars. Overnight luxury camp.
Day 8: Merzouga to Marrakech — Gorges & Kasbahs
Sahara sunrise from the dunes. Drive through Todra Gorge (300m canyon walls), Dades Valley (Valley of Roses), Ouarzazate, and Ait Benhaddou UNESCO kasbah. Cross the 2,260m Tizi n’Tichka Pass — snow-capped High Atlas panoramas. Arrive Marrakech. Farewell dinner. Overnight Marrakech.
Day 9: Departure
