Day 1: Arrive Billund — LEGOLAND Billund Day 1
Welcome to Billund, a small Jutland town that became world-famous as the birthplace of the LEGO brick. Fly into Billund Airport (BLL) — Denmark’s second-largest airport — located just minutes from the action. Pick up your rental car or join the family shuttle to your Holiday Village accommodation. Drop your bags and waste no time — today is your first day at LEGOLAND Billund, the original LEGOLAND park that opened in 1968 and now welcomes over 2 million visitors annually. Day 3: Lalandia Aquadome & Family Chill Day
Give tired legs a break with a splash day at Lalandia Aquadome, Scandinavia’s largest water park and a tropical paradise just steps from LEGOLAND. The centerpiece is a massive glass dome that keeps temperatures at a balmy 30 degrees Celsius year-round — you’ll be in swimsuits even on a rainy Danish day. The Wild River rapids carry you on a twisting tube ride through waterfalls and waves. The Tornado slide begins with a stomach-dropping plunge into a giant funnel where you spin around before splashing into the pool below. The wave pool generates gentle and rough waves on alternating cycles. Day 4: Givskud Zoo Safari & Ribe Viking Town
Drive 20 minutes north to Givskud Zoo (also called Ree Park Safari), one of Denmark’s largest and most respected zoos with a unique feature: you drive your own car through the animal enclosures. Your final day explores the Wadden Sea National Park (Vadehavet), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats. This extraordinary ecosystem stretches from Denmark through Germany to the Netherlands and is one of the world’s most important sites for migratory birds — up to 12 million birds use the Wadden Sea each year as a feeding ground on their journey between the Arctic and Africa. Drive to Esbjerg harbor to see the iconic Man Meets the Sea (Mennesket ved Havet) — Svend Wiig Hansen’s monumental sculpture of four nine-meter-tall white seated figures staring out to sea, installed in 1995 to mark Esbjerg’s centenary. Join a guided mudflat walk (sort safari) from the mainland to the island of Mando — walking on the seabed at low tide, squishing barefoot through the soft mud as your guide points out lugworm casts, cockle shells, and the millions of tiny organisms that sustain the Wadden Sea food chain. Alternatively, take a seal safari boat trip from Esbjerg or Hviding to the sandbanks of Fano where hundreds of harbor seals and grey seals haul out to rest and nurse their pups. The sight of dozens of seals lounging on sandbars as your boat approaches is unforgettable. After your Wadden Sea adventure, head to Billund Airport (approximately 1 hour drive north) for your departure.
