Day 1: Arrival in Brussels — Grand Place & Old Town
Welcome to Brussels, the vibrant capital of Belgium and the de facto capital of the European Union. Upon arrival at Brussels Airport, you will be greeted by your Worldee guide and transferred to your centrally located hotel in the Sint-Gillis district. After settling in, embark on an introductory walking tour through the historic heart of Brussels. Begin at the magnificent Grand Place, a UNESCO World Heritage Site widely considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world. Marvel at the stunning Gothic Town Hall with its 96-metre spire, the ornate guild houses with their gilded facades, and the Maison du Roi (King’s House) housing the Brussels City Museum. Your guide will share tales of medieval merchants, Habsburg rulers, and the square’s dramatic destruction and rebuilding. Continue to the famous Manneken Pis, the irreverent bronze fountain statue that has become the city’s beloved mascot since 1619. Stroll through the elegant Royal Galleries of Saint-Hubert, Europe’s first covered shopping arcade opened in 1847, before visiting the Royal Palace of Brussels with its impressive neoclassical facade. Day 2: Atomium, EU Quarter & Brussels Highlights
After breakfast, journey north of the city centre to visit the iconic Atomium, a 102-metre-tall architectural marvel built for the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair (Expo ’58). This extraordinary structure represents an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times, consisting of nine interconnected spheres. Ride the elevator to the top sphere for panoramic views of Brussels and its surrounding countryside. Explore the permanent exhibition on Expo ’58 and the temporary art installations housed within the spheres. Continue to the European Quarter, where you will see the imposing Berlaymont building (headquarters of the European Commission), the Europa Building (seat of the European Council), and the European Parliament’s sprawling complex at Espace Leopold. At the Parlamentarium, the European Parliament’s visitors’ centre, experience an interactive journey through European history and the EU’s institutions. In the afternoon, explore the Marolles district with its famous daily flea market at Place du Jeu de Balle, browse antique shops along Rue Haute, and ascend via glass elevator to the Palace of Justice for sweeping city views. The evening is free for independent exploration — perhaps try moules-frites (mussels and fries) at a restaurant in the bustling Saint-Gery district.

Day 3: Day Trip to Bruges — Medieval Canals & Flemish Masters
Board a comfortable coach for the approximately one-hour journey to Bruges, the impeccably preserved medieval city often called the “Venice of the North.” Begin your exploration at the Minnewater (Lake of Love), a tranquil rectangular lake surrounded by weeping willows and medieval buildings. From here, walk to the Beguinage, a secluded courtyard founded in 1245 where Benedictine nuns now live in small whitewashed houses — a UNESCO World Heritage Site that preserves the tradition of the beguines, religious laywomen who lived in semi-monastic communities. Continue to the Church of Our Lady, a 13th-century Gothic church whose 122-metre brick tower is one of the world’s tallest. Inside, view Michelangelo’s exquisite “Madonna and Child” (1504), the only sculpture by the master to leave Italy during his lifetime. After a leisurely lunch on the Market Square, climb the 366 steps of the 83-metre Belfry Tower for breathtaking views of the city’s medieval skyline. Visit a chocolatier for last-minute purchases of Belgian pralines — Pierre Marcolini, Wittamer, and Neuhaus all have flagship stores in the area. Your guide transfers you to Brussels Airport for your departure flight. You leave with memories of gilded guild houses, the sound of carillon bells from the Bruges Belfry, the taste of Belgian chocolate, and the quiet beauty of medieval canals — treasures from the heart of Europe.
