Itinerary Highlights

Days 1-2: Taipei Immersion

Arrive Taipei. Two full days exploring: National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Longshan Temple, Taipei 101, Elephant Mountain hike for the iconic skyline photo, and the creative shops of Dadaocheng’s Dihua Street. Night markets: Raohe and Ningxia. Day trip to Jiufen and Shifen to release a sky lantern.

Day 3: Sun Moon Lake

Drive to Sun Moon Lake. Boat cruise, cycling on the world-famous lakeside path. Visit the Thao indigenous village. Premium lakeside hotel.

Day 4: Alishan Forest Railway

Ascend into the misty mountains on the Alishan Forest Railway, one of the world’s great mountain railways. Walk through ancient cypress forests — some trees over 2,000 years old. Visit Tea Plantations in the high mountains. Overnight at Alishan.

Day 5: Tainan — Cultural Capital

Descend to Tainan. Anping Fort, Chihkan Tower, Confucius Temple, Hayashi Department Store (1932, Taiwan’s first elevator). Evening food crawl through Tainan’s streets — arguably the best food city in the Chinese-speaking world.

Day 6: Kaohsiung

Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum, Lotus Pond, Pier-2 Art Center. Afternoon visit to the Dome of Light at Formosa Boulevard MRT station — the world’s largest glass artwork.

Day 7: Kenting & East Coast

Drive the stunning east coast: Kenting National Park, Longpan Park with its Pacific-cliff views, and the Sanxiantai Dragon Bridge in Taitung.

Day 8: Taroko Gorge

Full day exploring Taroko National Park’s marble-walled gorge. Swallow Grotto, Tunnel of Nine Turns, Baiyang Waterfall trail. Return to Taipei. Farewell dinner.

Day 9: Depart Taipei

Transfer to airport.
