Day 1: Tirana to Berat — Capital Colors to Ottoman Heritage

Morning pick-up from your hotel or Tirana International Airport. Begin with a guided tour of Tirana: Skanderbeg Square, the Et’hem Bey Mosque with its unique frescoes of nature, the 35-meter Clock Tower, and the National History Museum. Day 2: Berat to Gjirokaster — Two UNESCO Cities in One Day

Morning: optional walk through Berat’s local market and artisan workshops before departure. Drive south through dramatic mountain landscapes to Gjirokaster (approximately 2.5 hours), the “City of Stone” and UNESCO World Heritage site. The approach to Gjirokaster is breathtaking — the massive castle appears first on the ridgetop, then the city unfolds across the mountainside, a cascade of slate-roofed Ottoman houses in shades of gray and brown. Day 3: Gjirokaster to Himara — Blue Eye & Albanian Riviera

Morning drive to the Blue Eye (Syri i Kalter), stopping to witness this extraordinary natural wonder. The intensely blue water gushes from a deep karst hole at 18,400 liters per second, creating colors that shift from deep indigo at the center to brilliant turquoise at the edges. The spring’s depth is unknown — divers have reached 50 meters without finding the bottom. Continue toward the coast. The road emerges from the mountains to reveal the Ionian Sea, with the island of Corfu floating on the horizon. Arrive in Himara, a charming coastal town with a beautiful long beach and Old Town perched above. Day 4: Himara to Ksamil — Paradise Beaches & Ancient Butrint

Morning drive south along the stunning Riviera coastal road. Stop at Borsh, home to one of the Riviera’s longest beaches and a mountaintop castle. Continue through Lukove, a hillside village with spectacular sea views. Arrive in Ksamil, Albania’s tropical paradise — four small islands dot turquoise shallows, creating scenes identical to the Maldives or Caribbean. The islands are accessible by swimming, kayak, or pedalo, and the shallow water between them is warm and crystal clear. Swim, snorkel, or simply relax on Ksamil’s white sand beaches. Lunch at a beachfront restaurant. Afternoon: visit Butrint National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site preserving over 3,000 years of Mediterranean civilization. Walk among the Greek theater, Roman forum and baths, the magnificent 6th-century baptistery with its mosaic floor of birds and animals, and the Venetian fortress. Day 5: Saranda Morning & Return to Tirana

Morning at leisure in Saranda. Walk the seaside promenade, visit the ancient synagogue ruins with their mosaic floors, or take a final swim. Optional visit to Lekuresi Castle for panoramic views over Saranda, Ksamil’s islands, and Corfu. Then begin the drive back to Tirana (approximately 3.5 hours). The return journey crosses the scenic highlands of southern Albania, passing through the Vjosa River valley, one of Europe’s last wild rivers. Stop en route for lunch at a traditional roadside restaurant. Arrive in Tirana with time for last souvenir shopping at the colorful Pazari i Ri (New Bazaar) market, where fresh produce, raki, mountain tea, and local handicrafts create a vibrant atmosphere.
