Day 1: Arrive Algiers. Evening Casbah walk. Day 2: Algiers full day — Martyrs’ Memorial, National Museum, Notre Dame d’Afrique, Bardo Museum. Overnight Algiers.
Days 3-5: M’Zab Valley — Ghardaia
Day 3: Fly to Ghardaia. Day 4: Beni Isguen, Melika, Bou Noura. Day 5: El Atteuf (oldest ksar, 1012 AD), palm grove walks. Desert sunset. Overnight Ghardaia.
Days 6-8: Timimoun — The Red Oasis
Day 6: Epic drive across the Sahara to Timimoun (6 hours). Arrive in the red oasis — a town of ochre-colored mud-brick buildings, palm groves, and an ancient foggaras irrigation system (underground channels older than the Roman Empire). Day 7: Explore Timimoun — the Grand Sebkha (vast salt lake, blinding white against red dunes), the abandoned ksar of Timimoun, and the palm groves where locals harvest Deglet Nour dates. Day 8: Excursion to the sand dunes of the Grand Erg Occidental for sandboarding, sunset, and stargazing. Overnight Timimoun.
Day 9: Timimoun to Algiers
Flight to Algiers. Afternoon free. Farewell dinner. Overnight Algiers.
Day 10: Departure
Transfer to Algiers Airport.
