Day 1: Fly to Lubango
Arrive at Luanda’s 4 de Fevereiro Airport. Connect to Lubango (Mukanka Airport, 1.5 hours). Afternoon: Cristo Rei statue, Lubango city tour. Overnight Lubango.
Day 2: Tundavala & Serra da Leba
Morning: Tundavala Fissure — 1,200m vertical drop at the edge of the Serra da Chela plateau. Afternoon: descend the Serra da Leba — 11 hairpin bends, 1,600m drop. Arrive Namibe. Overnight Namibe.
Day 3: Mwila Tribe — Kimbo Village
Full day cultural immersion at Kimbo village. Meet the Mwila (Mumuila) people — women with cow-dung-and-red-stone hairstyles, cowrie shell adornments, and traditional neck rings. Observe daily life, cattle herding, and traditional ceremonies. Photography with permission (small payment per photo). Overnight Namibe or tented camp.
Day 4: Virei Rock Art & Mucubal Nomads
Drive to Virei: prehistoric rock paintings and engravings on granite outcrops (4,000-8,000 years old). Afternoon: visit a Mucubal semi-nomadic settlement — ochre-bodied warriors, beaded women, cattle-centered culture. Overnight tented camp near Virei.
Day 5: Cunene River Mouth & Namibe Desert
Drive to the Cunene River mouth: flamingos at the estuary, dolphins in the surf, seals on rocks, pink dunes of the northern Namib. Search for Welwitschia mirabilis — the living fossil plant that lives 1,500 years. Afternoon: Tombua’s Red Canyon. Return to Namibe.
Day 6: Return & Departure
Drive up Serra da Leba to Lubango. Flight to Luanda. Connect to international departure.
