Day 1: Cape Town to Oudtshoorn via Hermanus
Depart Cape Town early morning. First stop: Hermanus, the whale-watching capital of the Southern Hemisphere. Walk the famous Cliff Path with chances to spot Southern Right Whales in season (June-November). Continue through the Overberg farmlands and along Route 62. Visit a roadside farm stall for homemade koeksisters and biltong. Arrive in Oudtshoorn for an ostrich farm tour and dinner. Overnight Oudtshoorn.
Day 2: Cango Caves & Knysna
Morning at the magnificent Cango Caves — towering limestone formations in vast underground halls. Cross the Outeniqua Mountains via the spectacular Outeniqua Pass. Arrive in Knysna. Afternoon visit to the Knysna Heads and lagoon viewpoint. Stroll the vibrant Waterfront with its art galleries, craft shops, and fresh seafood. Optional sunset cruise. Overnight Knysna.
Day 3: Tsitsikamma National Park
Full day in Tsitsikamma — the heart of the Garden Route. Walk the suspension bridge spanning Storms River Mouth with waves thundering beneath. Hike the first section of the Otter Trail through indigenous forest to the waterfall. Afternoon at leisure for optional adventures: kayaking the gorge, Segway through the forest, or simply soaking in the dramatic coastal scenery from a cliff-top bench. Overnight Tsitsikamma.
Day 4: Tsitsikamma to Port Elizabeth
Morning forest walk searching for Knysna loeries and Samango monkeys. Continue eastward through the Garden Route’s final stretches. Brief stop at the bridge over Bloukrans River — the world’s highest commercial bungee site at 216 meters. Arrive Port Elizabeth. Transfer to airport for afternoon departure.
