Day 1: Arrive Narsaq — Expedition Briefing
Arrive in Narsaq. Meet your expedition team at the base camp. Complete equipment check — double kayaks, dry suits, camping gear. Orientation briefing covering route, safety protocols, and paddling techniques. Evening exploration of Narsaq. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 2: Kayak Training & Fjord Paddle
Morning kayak training session in sheltered waters near Narsaq. Learn paddle strokes, rescue techniques, and group communication. Afternoon: first paddle through the outer fjord system — navigate between islands as massive icebergs drift past. First camp on a remote beach with views of the Greenland Ice Sheet. Camp dinner prepared by your guide.
Days 3-4: Deep Fjord Kayaking
Two full days of fjord kayaking through South Greenland’s most spectacular waterways. Paddle past towering granite cliffs rising 1,000m from the sea. Watch for ringed seals sunning on ice floes and white-tailed eagles soaring overhead. Camp on uninhabited beaches accessible only by kayak. On clear nights, the midnight sun never sets — experience the surreal beauty of paddling in golden light at 11 PM.
Day 5: Qaleraliq Glacier Arrival
Approach the magnificent Qaleraliq Glacier — a 10km-wide ice wall where massive seracs calve into the fjord with thunderous booms. Set up camp within safe viewing distance. Afternoon zodiac cruise along the glacier front for close-up views of blue ice caves and towering ice formations. Wildlife watching for seals, whales, and Arctic birds.
Day 6: Glacier Ice Trekking
Full-day ice trekking on the Qaleraliq Glacier. After a safety briefing, strap on crampons and explore the glacier’s otherworldly surface — deep blue crevasses, ice sculptures carved by wind, and streams of crystal-clear meltwater. Expert guides navigate the safest routes while explaining glacial geology. Picnic lunch on the ice with 360-degree glacier views. Return to camp for a celebratory dinner.
Day 7: Return Paddle
Final day of kayaking back toward Narsaq. Stop at remote beaches and islands only our expedition reaches. Afternoon arrival in Narsaq. Hot shower, final expedition dinner at a local restaurant. Share photos and stories with the group.
Day 8: Departure
Breakfast and transfer for departure from South Greenland. Certificate of expedition completion presented.
