Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: BSB to Sumbiling Eco Village — Into the Wild
Morning pickup from Bandar Seri Begawan. Speedboat journey along the Brunei River into Temburong District, passing mangrove forests and traditional villages. Switch to a narrow longboat for the final river journey into Ulu Temburong National Park — one of the best-preserved primary rainforests in all of Borneo. Check into Sumbiling Eco Village, your jungle base for two nights. Afternoon introduction trek learning about the rainforest ecosystem from your Iban guide — discover plants used for food, medicine, and traditional hunting.
Day 2: Canopy Walkway & Night Jungle Exploration
Morning trek to the famous Ulu Temburong Canopy Walkway — climb 50 meters above the forest floor through a series of aluminum towers connected by suspension bridges. The view from the top is simply mesmerizing: an endless green carpet of rainforest canopy, with hornbills flying at eye level and mist rolling over distant ridges. Afternoon waterfall visit for a swim in crystal-clear jungle pools. After dinner: night jungle walk — the rainforest transforms after dark. Spot glowing mushrooms, frogs, insects, and if lucky, the eyes of the rare Western tarsier reflecting in your torchlight.
Day 3: Sunrise Jungle & Return
Dawn chorus walk — the best time to spot wildlife as the rainforest wakes. Listen for gibbon calls and watch for colorful bird species including hornbills, kingfishers, and pittas. After breakfast, journey back by longboat and speedboat to Bandar Seri Begawan. Arrive by early afternoon for your onward travel.
