Day 1: Arrive Nouméa

Day 2: Nouméa Discovery
Explore Nouméa: the vibrant Port Moselle market, the architectural wonder of the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, and the chic restaurants of Baie des Citrons (Lemon Bay). Afternoon: Amedee Island day trip — a 40-minute boat ride to a tiny island with a historic lighthouse (1865, shipped from France in pieces). The snorkeling around the island is world-class, with sea turtles, reef sharks, and a kaleidoscope of tropical fish. Overnight in Nouméa.
Day 3: Nouméa to Isle of Pines
Morning flight (25 minutes) to the Isle of Pines. The approach alone is worth the trip — turquoise lagoon, white sand, and the distinctive columnar pines that give the island its name. Check into your beachfront bungalow. Afternoon at Kanuméra Bay — the water here is so perfectly clear and impossibly turquoise that you’ll question if your eyes need calibrating. Snorkel the natural aquarium of Oro Bay. Overnight on Isle of Pines.
Day 4: Isle of Pines Adventures
Morning: walk to Pic N’Ga summit for panoramic views. Visit the Grotte de la Reine Hortense, a sea cave with an underground pool. Afternoon: snorkeling at the natural swimming pool of Baie d’Oro — a protected lagoon where the fish are so accustomed to visitors they swim right up to inspect you. Overnight on Isle of Pines.
Day 5: Isle of Pines to Nouméa
Morning at leisure: last swim, last photos of that impossible turquoise water. Flight back to Nouméa. Afternoon: visit the Musée de Nouvelle-Calédonie for Kanak art, or relax at Anse Vata beach. Overnight in Nouméa.
Day 6: Lagoon Day Cruise
Full-day lagoon cruise to the outer barrier reef. The UNESCO-listed New Caledonia Lagoon is 24,000 km² — larger than some countries. Sail to the outer reef where the lagoon meets the open Pacific, snorkeling in pristine coral gardens. Observe the nautilus, a living fossil species endemic to these waters. Farewell dinner at a Nouméa restaurant specializing in lagoon seafood. Overnight in Nouméa.
Day 7: Depart Nouméa
Transfer to airport.
