Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Santa Cruz
Welcome at Viru Viru International Airport in Santa Cruz, Bolivia’s largest and most modern city. Afternoon exploration of the historic center and the vibrant 24 de Septiembre Square. Visit the Cathedral and the Ethno-Folklore Museum. Welcome dinner with Bolivian wine. Overnight in Santa Cruz.
Day 2: Sucre — The White City (UNESCO)
Fly to Sucre. Full day exploring this stunning UNESCO World Heritage city. Casa de la Libertad, Recoleta viewpoint, and the ASUR indigenous textile museum. Walk the gleaming white streets and admire the colonial architecture. Overnight in Sucre.
Day 3: Potosi — Silver Mountain
Journey to Potosi (4,090m). Visit the Casa de la Moneda — the royal mint that once produced coins for the Spanish Empire. Tour the main cathedral and the Santa Teresa Convent. Panoramic views of Cerro Rico, the mountain whose silver funded the Spanish Empire for centuries. Overnight in Potosi.
Day 4: Uyuni Salt Flats — Day 1
Drive to Uyuni. Visit the Train Cemetery. Enter the Salar de Uyuni — the world’s largest salt flat. Visit Incahuasi Island covered in giant cacti. Photography session — the surreal landscape makes every photo extraordinary. Sunset on the salt flat. Overnight in a salt hotel.
Day 5: Colored Lagoons & High Altiplano
4×4 expedition into the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve. Laguna Colorada — thousands of flamingos on a blood-red lake. Geysers, hot springs, and the Salvador Dali Desert. Arrive at Laguna Verde at the foot of Licancabur Volcano. Overnight in desert refuge.
Day 6: Return to La Paz
Return to Uyuni, fly to La Paz. Afternoon at leisure. Explore the city’s incredible food scene. Overnight in La Paz.
Day 7: La Paz — The City in the Sky
Full day exploring La Paz. Mi Teleferico cable cars. Witches’ Market, Valle de la Luna, and the Killi Killi viewpoint. Visit the Coca Museum to understand the sacred leaf. Afternoon at the unique Cholitas Wrestling (women’s wrestling in traditional dress). Overnight in La Paz.
Day 8: Lake Titicaca — Copacabana
Scenic drive to Lake Titicaca (3,812m). Visit the Basilica in Copacabana. Boat to Isla del Sol — walk Inca trails and visit the Pilkokaina Inca Palace. Stay overnight at an eco-lodge on the island. Overnight on Isla del Sol.
Day 9: Isla del Sol & Return
Sunrise over Lake Titicaca — eternal snows of the Cordillera Real reflecting in the sacred lake. Hike to the northern ruins. Boat back to Copacabana. Return to La Paz. Farewell dinner at Gustu — one of Latin America’s top restaurants, founded by Noma’s Claus Meyer. Overnight in La Paz.
Day 10: Depart La Paz
Morning visit to the authentic Rodriguez Market for Bolivian chocolates, coffee, and quinoa. Airport transfer. Chau, Bolivia!
