Day 1: Arrive Santo Domingo
Welcome to the Dominican Republic! Airport transfer to your hotel in the Colonial Zone. Day 2: Santo Domingo Colonial Zone (UNESCO)
Full-day exploration of the UNESCO-listed Colonial Zone. Visit the First Cathedral of the Americas (Catedral Primada), Alcazar de Colon (Diego Columbus’s palace), Fortaleza Ozama, and the Pantheon Nacional. Walk Calle Las Damas, the oldest paved street in the Americas. Afternoon at the Museum of the Royal Houses. Evening merengue lesson — learn the national dance. Overnight in Santo Domingo.
Day 3: Los Tres Ojos & Colonial Markets
Visit Los Tres Ojos National Park — a stunning cave system with three crystal-clear blue lagoons. Explore the Mercado Modelo for Dominican art, amber jewelry, and larimar (the rare blue gemstone found only in the DR). Afternoon at the Columbus Lighthouse. Overnight in Santo Domingo.
Day 4: Samana Peninsula — Whale Watching & Beaches
Scenic drive north to the Samana Peninsula. Visit Cayo Levantado (Bacardi Island) — a picture-perfect tropical island with white sand and turquoise water. From January to March, witness humpback whales in the Bay of Samana (one of the world’s best whale-watching sites). Afternoon at Playa Rincon — consistently ranked among the Caribbean’s most beautiful beaches. Overnight in Las Terrenas.
Day 5: Las Terrenas & El Limon Waterfall
Horseback ride to El Limon Waterfall — a spectacular 170-foot cascade plunging into a natural swimming pool in the jungle. Afternoon exploring Las Terrenas — a charming fishing village turned cosmopolitan beach town. French bakeries, seafood grills, and the beautiful Playa Bonita. Farewell dinner with fresh seafood. Overnight in Las Terrenas.
Day 6: Depart Santo Domingo
