Day 1: Arrive Hanoi
- Noi Bai Airport Pickup — Welcome by your private guide, transfer to hotel in Hanoi’s atmospheric Old Quarter

Day 2: Hanoi → Sapa — Into the Mountains

Day 3: Sapa Terraced Rice Fields Trek
- Y Linh Ho & Lao Chai Villages — Full-day trek (4-5 hours, moderate) descending through the Muong Hoa Valley, home to the most spectacular rice terraces in Vietnam. The terraces, carved into mountainsides over centuries, create a stunning patchwork of green and gold depending on the season
- Black H’mong Village Visit — Meet the Black H’mong ethnic minority in Lao Chai village. Women here wear distinctive indigo-dyed hemp clothing with colorful embroidery. Learn about their traditional way of life — dyeing cloth with natural indigo, growing rice and corn, and the importance of water buffalo
- Ta Van Village — Continue to the Giay minority village, where houses are built on stilts and surrounded by bamboo groves. Enjoy a home-cooked lunch with a local family featuring mountain specialties

Day 4: Sapa → Hanoi → Halong Bay

- Return to Hanoi — Scenic drive back through the mountains, arriving by early afternoon
- Transfer to Halong Bay — Continue east to Halong City (3.5 hours), board your overnight cruise in the late afternoon

Day 5: Halong Bay Cruise & Return to Hanoi

Day 6: Ninh Binh — “Halong Bay on Land”
- Hoa Lu Ancient Capital — 2-hour drive south to Vietnam’s first capital (968-1010 AD). Visit the temples of the Dinh and Le dynasties, set among dramatic limestone mountains and rice paddies
- Tam Coc Boat Ride — Board a traditional sampan rowed by a local boatman (often using their feet!) through the “Three Caves” — natural tunnels carved by the Ngo Dong River through limestone mountains. The 2-hour journey takes you through flooded rice paddies and under ancient cave ceilings dripping with stalactites
- Bich Dong Pagoda — A stunning 15th-century pagoda built into the side of a limestone mountain across three levels. Climb to the upper pagoda for panoramic views of the surrounding karst landscape
- Mua Cave Viewpoint — Climb 500 stone steps to the summit of Ngoa Long Mountain, where a dragon statue guards one of Vietnam’s most photogenic viewpoints — endless karst peaks, winding rivers, and emerald rice fields

Day 7: Farewell Hanoi
Final morning in Hanoi’s Old Quarter — last chance for souvenir shopping on Hang Gai (Silk Street), a final bowl of steaming pho, or a strong Vietnamese drip coffee with condensed milk. Private transfer to Noi Bai Airport for your departure.
