Itinerary Highlights

Day 1: Arrive Amman

Welcome to Jordan! Airport pickup and transfer to your hotel in Amman. Afternoon walking tour of the Old City: the Citadel with its 7,000 years of history, the Roman Theatre (6,000 seats, still used today), and the Jordan Archaeological Museum. Evening walk through Rainbow Street with its art galleries and cafes. Welcome dinner of mansaf (Jordan’s national dish of lamb in fermented yogurt sauce). Overnight in Amman.

Day 2: Jerash & Ajloun

Day trip to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities outside Italy. Walk through Hadrian’s Arch, the hippodrome, the Oval Plaza, and the colonnaded Cardo Maximus. Afternoon at Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century Islamic fortress built by Saladin’s general to defend against the Crusaders. Panoramic views of the Jordan Valley. Return to Amman. Overnight in Amman.

Day 3: Madaba, Mount Nebo & Petra

Drive south. First stop at Madaba, the “City of Mosaics” — see the famous 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in St. George’s Church. Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land — the panorama extends over the Dead Sea to Jerusalem on clear days. Afternoon drive to Petra. Overnight at a hotel near Petra.

Day 4: Petra — The Rose-Red City

Full day at Petra, the Nabataean wonder and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Enter through the Siq, the 1.2km narrow gorge with towering walls — the moment the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) appears through the opening is one of travel’s greatest reveals. Continue to the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, the 3,000-seat Theatre, and the colonnaded Roman street. Hike up 800 steps to the Monastery (Ad-Deir), Petra’s largest monument, with staggering views. Overnight near Petra.

Day 5: Little Petra & Wadi Rum

Morning at Little Petra (Siq al-Barid), a smaller but enchanting Nabataean site. Drive to Wadi Rum, the Valley of the Moon — Lawrence of Arabia’s desert. 4×4 jeep safari through towering sandstone mountains and red dunes. Visit Lawrence’s Spring, Khazali Canyon with its ancient inscriptions, and the vast red sand dunes for sandboarding. Sunset on the dunes. Traditional Bedouin dinner cooked underground (zarb). Sleep in a Bedouin camp under one of the world’s most spectacular starry skies. Overnight in Wadi Rum.

Day 6: Dead Sea — Float at the Lowest Point on Earth

Depart Wadi Rum and drive to the Dead Sea (430m below sea level), the lowest point on Earth. Float effortlessly in the hyper-saline water — you literally cannot sink. Cover yourself in mineral-rich black mud for a natural spa treatment. Watch the sunset over the West Bank and Israel from the Jordanian shore. Farewell dinner. Overnight at a Dead Sea resort.

Day 7: Depart Amman

Morning free for a last float in the Dead Sea. Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport. Ma’a salama!
