Day 1: Arrive Labuan Bajo — The Dragon’s Gate
Fly from Bali to Labuan Bajo (1 hour). Transfer to your hotel. Afternoon: explore this charming port town — the harbor filled with traditional phinisi schooners, the colorful fish market, and sunset views over the Flores Sea from Paradise Bar. Welcome dinner with fresh seafood and a cold Bintang beer. Overnight Labuan Bajo.
Day 2: Padar Island & Pink Beach
Morning: board your phinisi and set sail into Komodo National Park. First stop: Padar Island. The 30-minute hike to the summit is worth every step — the panoramic view of three crescent-shaped bays (black, white, and pink sand) separated by jagged volcanic ridges is nothing short of epic. Afternoon: cruise to Pink Beach. The sand’s rosy hue comes from microscopic red organisms (foraminifera) mixed with white coral. Snorkel in the coral gardens — parrotfish in every color, angelfish, and if you’re lucky, sea turtles. Evening: anchor near Kalong Island. As the sun sets, thousands of flying foxes stream from the mangroves against the orange sky. Sleep on deck under the stars. Overnight on the boat.
Day 3: Komodo Dragons & Manta Rays
Morning landing on Komodo Island or Rinca Island to meet the dragons. Komodo dragons are the dominant predators here — growing to 3 meters and 70kg, they hunt deer, wild boar, and water buffalo with venom-laced bites. Walk with experienced rangers through the dry savanna, observing these prehistoric creatures in their kingdom. Afternoon: cruise to Manta Point. If currents are favorable, snorkel with reef manta rays (up to 5.5m wingspan) as they barrel-roll through plankton-rich waters. Evening: anchor in a secluded bay, dinner under the stars, swimming in bioluminescent plankton. Overnight on the boat.
Day 4: Kanawa Island & Return
Morning at Kanawa Island — a tiny sand cay with world-class house reef snorkeling. Giant trevally, cuttlefish, turtles, and clouds of anthias in the crystal shallows. Afternoon sail back to Labuan Bajo. Shower, rest, sunset drinks. Overnight Labuan Bajo.
Day 5: Rangko Cave & Free Exploration
Morning boat trip to Rangko Cave — a limestone cave with a stunning turquoise pool where filtered sunlight creates an otherworldly glow through a sinkhole above. Swim in the crystal-clear water as stalactites drip overhead. Afternoon: choose your adventure — snorkel at Sebayur Island, visit the Batu Cermin (Mirror Rock) cave, or simply relax by the pool. Farewell dinner. Overnight Labuan Bajo.
Day 6: Departure
Transfer to Komodo Airport for your flight back to Bali.
