Day 1: Maun to Moremi — Afternoon Safari
Arrive Maun. Transfer to Moremi Game Reserve — the protected heart of the Okavango Delta. Afternoon game drive through riverine forest and floodplains. Moremi is famous for lion prides, leopards in sausage trees, and African wild dogs. Check into a comfortable camp on the reserve’s edge. Overnight Moremi camp.
Day 2: Moremi — Mokoro & Game Drive
Morning mokoro excursion — glide silently through lily-covered lagoons as elephants graze on the banks and hippos surface nearby. Your poler, a local BaYei guide, shares traditional knowledge of medicinal plants and Delta life. After lunch, afternoon game drive to Xakanaxa Lagoon and Paradise Pools — prime hippo territory. Watch for Pel’s fishing owl and the sitatunga antelope. Overnight Moremi camp.
Day 3: Moremi to Savuti Channel
Dawn game drive in Moremi. After breakfast, journey north through the Mababe Depression to Savuti — legendary for its predator dynamics. The Savuti Marsh was the setting for the famous documentary ” Eternal Enemies: Lions and Hyenas.” Afternoon game drive searching for the Savuti lion pride and cheetah on the open plains. Overnight Savuti camp.
Day 4: Savuti to Chobe River
Morning game drive in Savuti before continuing to the Chobe River Front. Check into a riverfront lodge. Afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe — an iconic African experience. Watch elephant families swimming across the river, buffalo herds at the waterline, and massive Nile crocodiles on the sandbanks. Sunset with elephants silhouetted against the African sky. Overnight Chobe.
Day 5: Chobe Sunrise Cruise & Departure
Dawn boat cruise — elephants by the hundreds drink at the river’s edge in golden morning light. After breakfast, transfer to Kasane Airport. Option to add Victoria Falls extension (just 80km away).
