Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrive Ashgabat — White Marble City
Arrive Ashgabat. Afternoon tour of the world’s most marble city: Independence Park, Neutrality Monument, Ertugrul Gazi Mosque, Akhal-Teke stables. Overnight Ashgabat.
Day 2: Darvaza — Door to Hell
Morning visit to the Tolkuchka Sunday Bazaar (if Sunday) or the National Museum. Afternoon drive through the Karakum Desert to Darvaza Gas Crater. Arrive at dusk as the flames become visible. Overnight yurt camp beside the burning crater. Desert dinner and stargazing.
Day 3: Kunya-Urgench & Dashoguz
Dawn at Darvaza. Drive to Kunya-Urgench (UNESCO): Kutlug Timur Minaret (60m), Turabek Khanum Mausoleum, Sultan Tekesh Mausoleum. Overnight Dashoguz.
Day 4: Fly to Mary — Ancient Merv
Morning flight to Mary. Full day exploring Ancient Merv (UNESCO): Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum, Kyz Kala fortresses, Erk Kala citadel, the ice houses, and the sprawling archaeological landscape. Fly back to Ashgabat. Farewell dinner.
Day 5: Departure
Morning shopping at the Russian Bazaar. Transfer to Ashgabat Airport.
