Day 1: Arrival in Seiyun & Hadramaut Valley

Arrive at Seiyun Airport (Seiyun, Hadramaut, Yemen). Transfer to your hotel. Explore Seiyun, the largest city in the Hadramaut Valley, a historic city with its beautiful mud-brick architecture, its famous palace, and its vibrant souk. Visit the Seiyun Palace (the Sultan’s Palace, a beautiful mud-brick palace built in the 1920s, now housing a museum with exhibits on the history and culture of the Hadramaut region). Visit the Seiyun Museum (with its collection of artifacts from the ancient Hadramaut kingdom, including the famous incense burners, pottery, and the ancient inscriptions). Visit the Seiyun Souk (a bustling traditional market with its spices, incense, textiles, crafts, and local food, a great place to experience the vibrant Yemeni culture). Visit the nearby old town of Seiyun with its beautiful mud-brick tower houses and narrow alleys. After lunch, visit the nearby villages and the beautiful Hadramaut Valley, with its lush palm groves, its traditional villages, and the stunning surrounding desert and mountains. Day 2: Tarim – Spiritual Capital of Yemen

Morning drive from Seiyun to Tarim (approximately 30 minutes), the spiritual capital of Yemen, a historic city famous for its Islamic scholarship, its beautiful mosques, its famous library, and its stunning mud-brick architecture. Tarim has been a center of Islamic learning for centuries, and it is the birthplace of many famous Islamic scholars and Sufi saints. Visit the Al-Muhdhar Mosque (one of the most beautiful mosques in Yemen, with its stunning minaret, one of the tallest mud-brick minarets in the world, and its beautiful architecture). Morning drive from Seiyun to Shibam (approximately 30 minutes), the famous Manhattan of the Desert, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an ancient city with its stunning mud-brick tower houses (some over 30 meters tall, with up to 9 floors, built over 500 years ago, making them some of the oldest high-rise buildings in the world). Shibam is one of the oldest and best-preserved examples of urban planning based on the principle of vertical construction, and it is considered one of the most beautiful ancient cities in the world. Explore Shibam: walk through the narrow alleys and streets of the old town, visit the beautiful mud-brick tower houses, visit the main mosque, visit the various historic buildings, and enjoy the stunning views of the city and the surrounding desert and valley. Visit the Shibam Museum (with its exhibits on the history and architecture of Shibam). Visit the viewpoint overlooking the city for stunning panoramic views of the mud-brick skyscrapers.
