Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Colombo, transfer to Negombo. Beach and Negombo city tour. Overnight Negombo.

Day 2: Drive to Anuradhapura. Full exploration: Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanwelisaya, Jetavanaramaya, Isurumuniya. Overnight Anuradhapura.

Day 3: Mihintale morning hike. Afternoon drive to Sigiriya, visit Ritigala Forest Monastery (ancient jungle hermitage). Overnight Sigiriya.

Day 4: Sigiriya Rock climb at dawn. Afternoon: Polonnaruwa — Gal Vihara, royal palace, audience hall. Overnight Sigiriya.

Day 5: Dambulla Cave Temple, Matale Spice Garden. Afternoon transfer to Kandy. Evening Temple of Tooth puja and fire dance show. Overnight Kandy.

Day 6: Kandy day — Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, gem museum, Kandy market, Bahirawakanda Buddha statue. Overnight Kandy.

Day 7: Scenic train to Nanu Oya. Nuwara Eliya orientation — Gregory Lake, Hill Club tea. Overnight Nuwara Eliya.

Day 8: Train to Ella, Nine Arch Bridge, Little Adam’s Peak. Afternoon: Lipton’s Seat scenic view. Overnight Ella.

Day 9: Drive to Yala via Buduruwagala ancient Buddhist rock carvings (7th century). Afternoon Yala jeep safari. Overnight near Yala.

Day 10: Morning Yala safari. Drive to south coast. Overnight in Mirissa/Weligama.

Day 11: Beach day — swimming, snorkeling, optional whale watching (seasonal). Overnight south coast.

Day 12: Stilt fishermen at Weligama, Turtle hatchery visit, Unawatuna Beach. Afternoon Galle Fort exploration. Overnight Galle.
