Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrival in São Tomé & City Tour
Arrive at São Tomé International Airport (São Tomé, São Tomé and Príncipe). Transfer to your hotel. Explore São Tomé, the capital and largest city, a colorful colonial city with its beautiful Portuguese colonial architecture, its vibrant markets, its waterfront, and its unique atmosphere. Visit the historic center of São Tomé: the Presidential Palace (a beautiful Portuguese colonial building), the Sé Cathedral (the main cathedral, a beautiful colonial church), the National Museum (housed in the historic Fort São Sebastião, with its exhibits on the history, culture, and natural heritage of São Tomé and Príncipe), the various colonial buildings and plazas, and the beautiful waterfront. Visit the São Sebastião Fort (a historic Portuguese fort on a hill overlooking the city and the ocean, with stunning views).
