Papua New Guinea Kokoda Track – 11 Days Australian-Led Trekking Expedition
📋 Overview
Walk in the Footsteps of History: The Kokoda Track
The Kokoda Track is one of the world’s great treks — 96 kilometers through some of the most rugged and beautiful terrain on Earth. This Australian-led expedition follows the exact wartime route, combining physical challenge with profound WWII history and encounters with remote mountain communities.
Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Port Moresby
Arrival, briefing, and equipment check. Visit the Bomana War Cemetery — final resting place of 3,779 Commonwealth soldiers.
Day 2: Owers Corner to Ua-Ule Creek
Begin the trek at Owers Corner. Descend through dense jungle to the Goldie River. Camp at Ua-Ule Creek.
Day 3: Ua-Ule to Ofi Creek
Climb to Imita Ridge, the site of fierce WWII battles. Descend to Ofi Creek for overnight camp.
Day 4: Ofi Creek to Nauro
Trek through pristine rainforest to the village of Nauro. Meet local villagers and learn about their wartime experiences.
Day 5: Nauro to Menari
Cross the “Wall” — one of the track’s toughest sections. Reach the beautiful village of Menari overlooking the range.
Day 6: Menari to Efogi
Trek to Efogi, the largest village on the track. Afternoon exploring WWII battle sites and trenches still visible in the jungle.

Day 8: Templeton’s to Isurava
Reach the Isurava Memorial, where Australian forces made their legendary stand. The four granite pillars stand as silent sentinels in the jungle clearing.
