Itinerary Highlights

Day 1: Arrival in Hong Kong

Arrive at Hong Kong International Airport (one of the best and most efficient airports in the world). Transfer to your hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui or Central. Explore Hong Kong: take the iconic Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour (one of the most beautiful harbor views in the world), visit the Avenue of Stars (with its handprints of Hong Kong movie stars and the stunning Bruce Lee statue), and watch the Symphony of Lights (a spectacular nightly multimedia light show featuring over 40 buildings on both sides of Victoria Harbour, the largest permanent light and sound show in the world). Visit the Temple Street Night Market (a bustling night market with fortune tellers, street food, and cheap goods) and the Ladies’ Market (Mong Kok). Evening welcome dinner with Hong Kong cuisine including dim sum, roast goose, wonton noodles, and egg tarts. Overnight in Hong Kong.

Day 2: Hong Kong Island & The Peak

Morning take the historic Peak Tram (one of the oldest and most famous funicular railways in the world, operating since 1888) up to Victoria Peak (The Peak), the highest point on Hong Kong Island, with stunning panoramic views of the city, Victoria Harbour, and the surrounding islands. Visit the Peak Tower and the Sky Terrace 428 (the highest viewing platform in Hong Kong). Take a walk along the Lugard Road Nature Trail (a beautiful circular walk with stunning views). After lunch, explore Central and Sheung Wan: visit the Man Mo Temple (a beautiful 19th-century Taoist temple dedicated to the gods of literature and martial arts), the Hollywood Road (with its antique shops and art galleries), the Central-Mid-Levels Escalator (the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world), the SoHo district (with its trendy restaurants, bars, and boutiques), and the historic Western Market. Day 3: Lantau Island & Big Buddha

Morning take the MTR to Tung Chung and then the Ngong Ping 360 cable car (a 5.7-kilometer cable car ride with stunning views of the North Lantau Country Park, the South China Sea, and the Hong Kong International Airport) to Ngong Ping Village. Visit the Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha), a 34-meter-tall bronze Buddha statue sitting on a lotus throne, one of the largest outdoor seated Buddha statues in the world. Climb the 268 steps to the base of the Buddha for stunning views. Visit the Po Lin Monastery (a beautiful Buddhist monastery, home to the Big Buddha, with its beautiful temples, gardens, and vegetarian restaurant). Visit the Ngong Ping Village (a themed cultural village with shops, restaurants, and attractions). After lunch, visit the Tai O Fishing Village (a traditional fishing village on the western side of Lantau, known for its stilt houses, salted fish, and boat trips to see Chinese white dolphins). Take a boat tour to see the pink dolphins. Evening return to Hong Kong. Visit the Mong Kok area for shopping and street food. Overnight in Hong Kong.

Day 4: Hong Kong to Macau

Morning take the TurboJet ferry from Hong Kong (Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan) to Macau (Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal), approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival in Macau, the historic Portuguese colony and special administrative region of China, known as the Las Vegas of Asia (with the highest gambling revenue in the world) and for its unique blend of Chinese and Portuguese culture. Explore the Macau Peninsula: visit the Ruins of St. Paul’s (the iconic ruins of a 17th-century Jesuit church, the most famous landmark in Macau), the Senado Square (a beautiful paved square in the heart of the historic center, surrounded by pastel-colored Portuguese buildings), the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady, the Holy House of Mercy, the Dom Pedro V Theatre, the St. Joseph’s Seminary and Church, and the A-Ma Temple (the oldest temple in Macau, dedicated to the goddess Matsu, dating back to 1488). Visit the Macau Museum (housed in the historic Fortaleza do Monte, with exhibits on Macau’s history and culture) and the Guia Fortress (with its lighthouse, chapel, and stunning views of Macau). After lunch, visit the Taipa Village (a charming historic village with Portuguese-style houses, museums, and restaurants) and the Cotai Strip (the area of reclaimed land between Taipa and Coloane, home to the largest and most luxurious casinos in the world including The Venetian, The Parisian, Galaxy, and City of Dreams). Visit The Venetian Macao (the largest casino in the world, with its replica of the Grand Canal, St. Mark’s Square, and the Rialto Bridge). Day 5: Macau & Departure

Morning continue exploring Macau: visit the Coloane Village (a peaceful fishing village on the southern island of Coloane, with its beautiful beaches, the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier, and the famous Lord Stow’s Bakery, where the original Portuguese egg tart was invented). Visit the Hac Sa Beach (Black Sand Beach) and the Seac Pai Van Park (with its giant pandas). Visit the Macau Tower (a 338-meter-tall tower with an observation deck, revolving restaurant, and the world’s highest commercial bungee jump at 233 meters). After lunch, do some last-minute shopping for Macanese products including Portuguese egg tarts, almond cookies, pork jerky, and Portuguese wine. Transfer to the Macau Ferry Terminal for the ferry back to Hong Kong (1 hour) and then to Hong Kong International Airport for your departure flight, or fly directly from Macau International Airport.
