Itinerary Highlights

Day 1: Arrival in Maun & Moremi Game Reserve

Arrive at Maun Airport (Maun, Botswana), the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Transfer to your lodge or tented camp in Moremi Game Reserve (located in the eastern part of the Okavango Delta, one of the most beautiful and wildlife-rich areas in Botswana, with its diverse ecosystems including floodplains, lagoons, woodlands, and grasslands). Moremi Game Reserve is home to a huge variety of wildlife including the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo), as well as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, kudus, hippos, crocodiles, wild dogs, cheetahs, and over 500 species of birds. After lunch, take an afternoon game drive through Moremi Game Reserve, looking for the abundant wildlife. The Okavango Delta is famous for its high density of wildlife, with the animals congregating around the waterways and floodplains. Look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, hippos, crocodiles, and with luck, lions, leopards, wild dogs, and rhinos. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Okavango Delta, with its waterways, lagoons, palm islands, and floodplains. Evening enjoy a beautiful sunset over the delta, with the sky turning orange and pink, and the sounds of the African bush. Dinner at the lodge or camp, with a traditional boma (bush barbecue) experience under the stars. Overnight in Moremi Game Reserve.

Day 2: Okavango Delta Water Safari & Game Drive

Early morning game drive (the best time to see wildlife, with the animals being most active at dawn and dusk). Look for predators such as lions, leopards, wild dogs, and cheetahs, as well as the various herbivores. After the morning game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, take a mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) excursion through the waterways of the Okavango Delta. The mokoro is the traditional mode of transport in the delta, poled by a local poler who stands at the back of the canoe and navigates through the narrow channels and lagoons. Glide silently through the waterways, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the delta, with its lily-covered lagoons, palm islands, and reed beds. Look for wildlife including hippos, crocodiles, elephants (often seen feeding on the banks), and a huge variety of birds including herons, egrets, storks, ibises, kingfishers, and fish eagles. The mokoro excursion is one of the most magical and unique experiences in the Okavango Delta, allowing you to get close to nature and experience the delta from the water. After the mokoro excursion, enjoy a picnic lunch on a beautiful island or sandbar in the delta. After lunch, take another game drive through Moremi Game Reserve, exploring different areas of the reserve. Visit the famous Third Bridge area (a beautiful area with its bridge over the waterway and abundant wildlife), the Xakanaxa Lagoon (a beautiful lagoon with its high concentration of wildlife, especially predators), and the Dead Tree Island (a beautiful area with its dead trees standing in the water, creating a hauntingly beautiful landscape). Evening enjoy another beautiful sunset over the delta. Dinner at the lodge or camp. Overnight in Moremi Game Reserve.

Day 3: Moremi to Chobe National Park

Morning take a final game drive through Moremi Game Reserve, enjoying the last views of the Okavango Delta and its wildlife. After breakfast, depart Moremi Game Reserve and drive or fly to Chobe National Park (located in the northern part of Botswana, bordering Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, one of the most famous national parks in Africa, known for its huge concentration of elephants, with over 120,000 elephants in the park, the largest concentration of elephants in the world). The drive from Moremi to Chobe takes approximately 3-4 hours by road, or you can take a scenic flight (approximately 1 hour) over the Okavango Delta and the Makgadikgadi Pans, enjoying the stunning aerial views. Upon arrival in Chobe National Park, check into your lodge or hotel in Kasane or along the Chobe River. After lunch, take a game drive through Chobe National Park, exploring the beautiful Savuti Channel area (a beautiful area with its grasslands, woodlands, and waterways, famous for its high concentration of predators including lions, leopards, wild dogs, and hyenas, as well as large herds of elephants, zebras, wildebeest, and buffalos). The Savuti area is famous for its dramatic wildlife interactions, with the predators hunting the large herds of herbivores. Look for lions, leopards, wild dogs, hyenas, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalos, and many species of birds. Evening enjoy a beautiful sunset over the African bush. Dinner at the lodge. Overnight in Chobe National Park/Kasane.

Day 4: Chobe River Cruise & Game Drive

Early morning game drive through Chobe National Park, looking for the abundant wildlife. The Chobe area is famous for its huge elephant herds, with hundreds of elephants often seen together, especially along the Chobe River. Look for elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, hippos, crocodiles, and many species of birds. After the morning game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, take a boat cruise on the Chobe River (one of the most famous river cruises in Africa, with its stunning views of the wildlife along the river banks). The Chobe River is the lifeblood of the park, with the animals coming to the river to drink and cool off, especially during the dry season (May to October). Cruise along the river, enjoying the beautiful scenery and the abundant wildlife. See huge herds of elephants coming to the river to drink, bathe, and play in the water (elephants are excellent swimmers and love the water). See hippos in the water, crocodiles basking on the banks, and a huge variety of birds including fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, egrets, storks, ibises, and cormorants. The boat cruise is one of the best ways to see the wildlife in Chobe, allowing you to get close to the animals along the river banks. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the boat or at a beautiful spot along the river. After the river cruise, take another game drive in the afternoon, exploring the Serondela area of the park (the most accessible area, with its beautiful riverfront forests and grasslands, and abundant wildlife). Evening enjoy a beautiful sunset over the Chobe River, with the elephants coming to the river for their evening drink. Dinner at the lodge or hotel, with a traditional boma experience. Overnight in Chobe National Park/Kasane.

Day 5: Final Game Drive & Departure

Morning take a final game drive through Chobe National Park, enjoying the last views of the wildlife. Look for elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and many species of birds. After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast.
