Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Yangon Arrival & Shwedagon Pagoda Sunset
Arrive at Yangon International Airport where your private guide and driver will welcome you. Transfer to your hotel in the city center. In the late afternoon, experience the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda at its most magical hour — sunset. The 99-meter golden stupa, covered in 60 tons of gold leaf and studded with over 4,500 diamonds, blazes brilliantly as the sun descends. Watch monks in saffron robes circumambulate the stupa and local families offer prayers and flowers. The spiritual atmosphere is palpable. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon Downtown — Sule Pagoda, Botataung Pagoda & Chinatown
Full day exploring Yangon’s rich heritage. Begin at Sule Pagoda, the 2,500-year-old golden stupa that sits at the very center of downtown — the geographic and spiritual heart of the city. Walk through streets lined with colonial-era buildings, including the Strand Hotel (1901) and the High Court. Visit Botataung Pagoda on the Yangon River, unique for its hollow stupa that visitors can walk through, containing ancient Buddha relics. Continue to Chinatown, a vibrant district of food stalls, temples, and traditional medicine shops. Try mohinga, Myanmar’s beloved fish noodle soup, at a local tea shop. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 3: Bago Ancient Capital & Golden Rock (Kyaiktiyo Pagoda)
Early morning departure for an unforgettable day trip. First stop at Bago (Pegu), the ancient capital of the Mon Kingdom. Visit Shwemawdaw Pagoda, standing 114 meters tall — even higher than Shwedagon — and the 55-meter Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha dating from 994 AD. Continue through scenic countryside to Mount Kyaiktiyo, site of the Golden Rock Pagoda — one of Myanmar’s most sacred pilgrimage sites. The massive granite boulder, covered in gold leaf by devotees, balances impossibly on the edge of a cliff, said to be held in place by a single hair of the Buddha. The panoramic views from the summit are spectacular. Return to Yangon in the evening. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 4: Yangon Departure
