After lunch, continue south through Tunisia’s changing landscape — olive groves give way to arid plains, then the first date palms announce the approaching desert. Day 3: Tozeur Oases, Chott El Jerid & Douz (250 km)
Morning: 4×4 excursion to Tozeur’s mountain oases. Here, Berber communities have lived underground for centuries, carving troglodyte homes with central courtyards open to the sky. Visit a traditional underground dwelling and share tea with a Berber family — experience their unique way of life, unchanged for generations. See the Hotel Sidi Driss — the iconic Star Wars filming location that served as Luke Skywalker’s childhood home on Tatooine. Continue to El Jem — the colossal Roman amphitheater rising from the Tunisian plains like a mirage.
