Day 1: Caracas to Mérida — Colonial City & Andean Arrival

Begin your journey with a morning flight from Caracas to El Vigia Airport, followed by a scenic 1.5-hour drive ascending into the Venezuelan Andes. As you climb from tropical lowlands toward Mérida at 1,630 meters, watch the landscape transform from banana plantations to cloud forest, with the snow-capped peaks of Sierra Nevada appearing on the horizon. Upon arrival in Mérida, check into your charming Andean posada in the historic center. Day 2: Mukumbari Cable Car to Pico Espejo (4,765m)

After an early breakfast, head to the base station at Barinitas (1,577m) for the breathtaking 5-station ascent. Day 3: Sierra Nevada Trekking & Los Aleros Village

Sample arepas andinas, a regional variation of Venezuela’s national dish made with wheat flour and served with fresh cheese and mountain butter. After the market visit, begin the drive back to El Vigia Airport through the spectacular Chama River Valley, taking final photographs of the snow-capped peaks receding in your rearview mirror.
