Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Dakar
Arrive at Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS). Meet your English-speaking guide and transfer to Hotel Ndiambour or Novotel Dakar. After settling in, enjoy a panoramic city orientation tour including the Presidential Palace, Independence Square, and the Cathedral of Dakar. Evening welcome dinner at a local restaurant featuring Senegalese cuisine.

Day 2: Gorée Island UNESCO World Heritage
After breakfast, take a 20-minute ferry ride to Gorée Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the House of Slaves (Maison des Esclaves) and its famous Door of No Return, where millions of enslaved Africans were shipped to the Americas. The curator delivers a powerful lecture on the history of the transatlantic slave trade. Explore the ethnographic museum, colonial-era fortifications, pastel-colored colonial streets, and artists’ workshops. Lunch at a seaside restaurant on the island. Return to Dakar in the late afternoon.

Day 3: Dakar City Tour & African Renaissance Monument
Start with a visit to the African Renaissance Monument, Africa’s tallest statue at 164 feet (49m), offering panoramic views over the Atlantic. Visit the Grand Mosque of Dakar, the IFAN Museum of African Arts, and the Artisans Village of Soumbedioune for authentic Senegalese crafts. Afternoon visit to Tilen Market and the lively Medina district. Enjoy a traditional thieboudienne (national dish of Senegal) cooking demonstration.
