Day 1: Arrive Baku, Azerbaijan
Welcome to the Land of Fire! Transfer to hotel. Evening walk along Baku Boulevard with the Flame Towers illuminating the Caspian Sea skyline. Welcome dinner with plov and Azeri tea. Overnight in Baku.
Day 2: Baku — Old & Ultra-New
Morning in the UNESCO-listed Icherisheher: Maiden Tower, Palace of the Shirvanshahs, and the Caravanserai. Afternoon: Zaha Hadid’s Heydar Aliyev Center and the Carpet Museum. Funicular to Highland Park for Flame Tower views. Overnight in Baku.
Day 3: Gobustan & Fire Trail
UNESCO Gobustan petroglyphs (40,000 years old) and the bubbling mud volcanoes. Afternoon: Yanar Dag (Burning Mountain) and the Ateshgah Fire Temple. Overnight in Baku.
Day 4: Sheki — Silk Road Gem
Drive to Sheki via Shamakhi. Visit the Khan’s Palace with its legendary stained glass. Explore the Caravanserai. Taste Sheki halva. Overnight in Sheki.
Day 5: Cross into Georgia — Kakheti Wine Country
Cross the Lagodekhi border into Georgia. Enter Kakheti wine region: visit Sighnaghi (City of Love) and Bodbe Monastery. Wine tasting with qvevri wines. Overnight in Telavi.
Day 6: Kakheti Deep Dive
Tsinandali Estate, Alaverdi Monastery, and Gremi citadel. Khinkali cooking class. Traditional supra feast with a tamada. Overnight in Telavi.
Day 7: Tbilisi — The Balcony of Europe
Drive to Tbilisi. Full-day tour: Old Town sulfur baths, Narikala Fortress, the Peace Bridge, and the Dry Bridge flea market. Evening at a wine bar in the historic Sololaki district. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 8: Kazbegi — High Caucasus
Georgian Military Highway: Ananuri Fortress, the Friendship Monument at 2,395m, and Gergeti Trinity Church beneath Mount Kazbek (5,047m). Overnight in Stepantsminda at Rooms Hotel Kazbegi.
Day 9: Mtskheta & Gori
Visit Georgia’s spiritual capital Mtskheta (UNESCO): Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Jvari Monastery. Continue to Gori (Stalin Museum) and Uplistsikhe cave city. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 10: Cross into Armenia — Dilijan
Cross the Sadakhlo border. Visit Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries (UNESCO) in the Debed Canyon. Arrive in Dilijan, “Armenian Switzerland.” Overnight in Dilijan.
Day 11: Lake Sevan & Yerevan
Lake Sevan: Sevanavank Monastery. Continue to Yerevan. Afternoon orientation: Republic Square, the Cascade, and Northern Avenue. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 12: Yerevan — The Pink City
Matenadaran, Genocide Memorial, Vernissage market. Etchmiadzin — the Vatican of Armenia. Ararat Brandy Factory tour and tasting. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 13: Khor Virap, Areni & Noravank
Khor Virap at sunrise with Mount Ararat views. Areni-1 cave (world’s oldest winery). Wine tasting. Noravank Monastery in its red canyon. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 14: Garni & Geghard
Garni Temple (1st-century Hellenistic) and Geghard Monastery carved from rock (UNESCO). Lavash baking with a local family. Farewell dinner with duduk music and Armenian cognac. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 15: Depart Yerevan
Morning at the GUM Market. Transfer to Zvartnots Airport.
