Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Kampala to Bwindi
Morning pickup from Kampala/Entebbe. Drive southwest through Uganda’s lush countryside. Equator crossing stop. Arrive at Bwindi by evening. Overnight near Bwindi.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking — Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Early morning gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After the incredible encounter, transfer 2 hours to Lake Bunyonyi — Africa’s second deepest lake, dotted with 29 islands. Settle into your lakeside lodge. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi Exploration
Morning canoe trip across Lake Bunyonyi — visit Punishment Island (historic site) and local communities on the islands. Optional: zip-lining across the lake, birdwatching (over 200 species), or mountain biking. Afternoon swimming in the bilharzia-free, croc-free, hippo-free lake — one of Africa’s safest swimming lakes. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 4: Return to Kampala/Entebbe
Morning at leisure — enjoy the misty lake sunrise. Depart for Kampala/Entebbe after breakfast. Lunch en route. Arrive by evening. Safe travels!
